Same issue today (last 2 days queue was ok). 6 hours waiting in 2 queues and only “Failed to configure” twice. Awesome game.

Ive literally got this EXACT problem since launch. Had 0 issues for the beta but literally have yet to be able to play it since launch due to this reason. Ive tried every little trick and back door work around suggested. I am not resetting my router every time i want to play the game. that is a game problem and shouldnt even be a thing heh.

Happened twice to me already after hours of waiting in a queue. The “fix” to wait a few minutes and be back at the front of the queue did not work at all after about 5 minutes of waiting after clicking ok. That’s just 2 days wasted, because I won’t wait for hours again just be given the privilege of a new error - the problem is on your side, please fix it! As a side note, from time to time I cannot even start to join the queue, because of your weird internet routing issues, which can be solved by a VPN or DNS change, but this time I was using my standard settings to queue successfully for some hours.
Disclaimer - there is nothing wrong with my PC or my internet connection, it is a fairly powerful PC with latest updates and drivers, very stable 500mbit fiber and so on. I use it daily for software development work, so I know what I’m talking about.

I have already defended the queue of 2 thousand people twice
I haven’t had to wait too long in queue, but I haven’t been able to log in for two days/ Tried 5 times in the am and pm, but still always get “Failed to configure” Even went as far as a new character on a new server without success.
I have been getting “failed to configure” message and “Lag Detected”. I talk to my friends in game before I dc and they can hear me just fine so I dont know what the problem is, hopefully someone here can help me a little bit because this has been happening to me every 20-30min. Its very frustrating.
I tried literally everything to fix this, the only thing that worked for me was using a VPN. It’s kind of shitty dealing with the higher ping, but hey I can finally play.
Same issue here. Could always login without issues after buying a couple days ago until today.
I tried:
- Restarting steam
- Validating files
- Running the EAC installer
- Restarting my PC and router
- Reinstalling New World
- Checking for missing updates (there were none)
Still getting this super nice error.
Also why the fuck do I have to use my amazon account to post on a bloody game forum?
Linking my steam profile to verify that I own the game I can understand to an extent.
But requiring to use my amazon profile because you can’t have multiple accounts on one mobile number is ridiculous.

Got the Error today, is there a fix for this?
The support was able to help me - I don’t know what kind of bad infrastructure / protocol planning leads to the server returning an erroneous message until the client flushes their DNS - but whatever.
These commands must be run in a an administrative shell (cmd.exe or powershell, doesn’t matter which):
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
netsh in ip reset
netsh winsock reset
After that reboot your PC.
I’ve also had another issue where the news and my character wouldn’t load at all - this is because AGS uses a domain that’s used for ads by amazon and hence often blocked in AdBlockers (e.g. a WRT router with AdBlock or a PiHole).
You need to whitelist a2z.com.
