Connectivity Issues!

Have recently been having bad connectivity issues during peak times on US East Servers, seemly randomly. I play on City of Brass. I have followed up with my provider and have a new modem and have ruled out my computer. I’m wanting to run a trace route to the US East Server so I can give my internet provider more info on where the problem is happening, But there seems to be no information on that released. I would appreciate if that would be provided so I can get working on this Issue. I’m sick of missing out on helping in my company wars!

Hello @SirConCon !

I’m sorry to hear you are experiencing connectivity issues with New World that is definitely not the intended experience! As you already contacted your Internet service provider, I asume you already run all basic troubleshooting from AGS Troubleshooting Lag and Connectivity Issues, if not, I recommend to give it a shot.

For a trace route I think you’ll need an IP address, you can actually find it from Windows resource monitor. I’ll link you another thread which explains how to do it, pictures included.

In case you keep experiencing connectivity issues you can also contact AGS Customer Support and report your issue, as they may need more information, that for your protection, can’t be shared via the forums.

If you contact us please keep handy the following:

1.In-game logs.

You can find them by:

  1. Press Windows+R on the keyboard, type %localappdata% and press enter.
  2. Open the most recent file from this folder: AGS/New World/LogBackups.

I hope this information helps!

Thank you very much. Was just able to find the IP and am already seeing problems in my route trace. Hopefully this will help Diagnose the issue.

Its not just you. My server has had mass kicks and when in dungeons my whole group had connection issues and rubberbanded into the water fighting Cilia at M5. I feel they changed something connection wise that is messing with a lot of people, or something is broken in the game.

Highly recommend goolging how to to a trace route and following what the dev linked above to learn the IP for your server. If you show the results to your ISP it helps out alot.

I am getting request time out before it reaches your gaming server, would you be interested in more information? after which point it is losing the connection? I’ve just done a server ping and get 100 percent loss of packets. I looked up the Ips it seems to be really close to server side if not server side, the trace route still couldn’t reach the Server IP.

Thanks for the information @SirConCon! You can provide it along New World logs using the link I added in my other post above, since it will contain private information we can’t receive it via forums. Also your report will be properly linked with your account.

@PandaAnomaly I’m sorry about your recent experience in New World, we are aware of some instances of lag detected during Mutated Expeditions. Our community managers have being also compiling reports about buggy/laggy aread to the server team in order to address them.

I hope this helps!

I can provide trace route information but it does show my IP address is the report system secure?

@SirConCon I’d recommend to choose the option to Live Chat with an AGS Customer Support representative as they can fill the report and provide you with the appropriate email address for you to send the logs and trace route. They will receive them to your account. Just remember to use the email you registered with AGS.

I hope this helps!
