Corruption music still plays after the event, any fixes?

I did a search for this bug and only found closed threads in the bug section, none of which address the issue.

Has anyone found a fix for the corruption event music that still plays after the event is over?

The only solutions I have found are to
A. Not do corruption events.
B. Relog.

Neither are desirable options.

Have you tried attacking normal enemy and killing it? triggers the battle music and then it should stop.

I have had countless encounters with mobs with the battle music playing over the past 6 weeks. Same with my GF on a separate PC and in none of those cases did battle music stop.

The only solution is to relog. Well that being said, she turned the music off in game, but the music brings so much life to cities (I love the Reekwater music) that I’d prefer to keep the music on.

Ima just refrain from engaging in corruption events. They are the only encounters this is an issue for us.

I’ve sent this problem over to the development team and it’s currently a known issue. I’ll let you know if I get any updates.

Yes, I can attest to this. How is this bug still in the game? I remember it from launch.

Surely, the devs are aware of it.

At the moment, I play with the music turned off so whenever I do Corruption Breaches I don’t have to listen to the ever-cycling battle music.

And, no, I shouldn’t have to log out and back in to get rid of it.

It should be fixed.

I had about 4 stacks of corrupted portal music yesterday. It’s pretty obvious and the bug is there for at least a couple of weeks now, since I returned to the game at that point.

Why does it take weeks to find such an obvious bug? And probably a few more weeks to fix it? Are there any gametesters at all who played the current patch for more than 10 minutes or was that task pushed upon to the paying players? This is a ridiculous way of running a company/service, are you guys not ashamed in the least? I wouldnt be able to sleep at all if my name was on that. Zero passion.

I also find this happens on combat music as well…both corruption and combat music can overlay existing music tracks.

I find I’m listening both to the rolling hills of Monarch’s Bluff whilst also been sung too as though I’m constantly being hunted.

As an FYI, I keep switching off music in the game for this reason, as to the OP’s point, you have to keep relogging to remove the ongoing music.

It’s annoying

Very strange, thanks for letting me know this is happening with other music as well.

It’d be great to see this fixed at some point. It’s been plaguing me since release and to come back after a few months to find it still here is a little bit disappointing.

I know the devs have a lot on their hands (hats off to them), but it would be good to see this particular bug finally squished.

This is constantly happening to me also and making me crazy. I have to log out to get it to stop. I love the music and don’t want to play with out it but it happens every time i do a corruption event and about 30% of the time I just get into a normal battle. Battle drums forever… Makes my anxiety shoot through the roof lol. Please AGS fix this? It seems it’s been a known bug since release as google shows complaints since then.

Thanks for reading!

Thank you for providing additional information!

This seems to be getting more and more widespread. The devs are looking into it.

Thanks for looking into it. I have noticed that when I go back to town it doubles up the music, as in I hear the town music quieter than the Corruption music but it will never end until I close the game. I even had the music restart and play on the log on screen when I just did a log out… lol talk about being incessant. Also if it helps, I have verified my files already on Steam and no change.

Join a portal/chest train through myrkgard and you’ll have 2-3x stacked corrupted portal music looming in the background. Fast Travel does not solve it either, the music stacks are even persistent. They can only randomly get overwritten if you engage another corrupted portal in another region, but that doesnt always work.

Thuis bug has been in the game for … months and you tell me nobody of the devs knew? If im going to browse forums now, are you sure i wont be finding a report at least 4 months old? This isnt a tiny problem at all.

Just noticed this yesterday after doing a myrkguard run, i was standing at the TP in reek and noticed the music was the corruption portal on a loop. I could faintly hear the reekwater music in the background. I normally keep the volume pretty low so i guess i never noticed before.

The only way to fix it is to logout and login again.
I was expecting this to be fixed in the last update.
