Most are just looking at XP and how they can in the fastest way level crafting, but I was wondering about the costs in gold for crafting and did some calcs with my servers taxes in weavers and TP prices.
I compared T1 crafting VS T4 crafting (as I have to do T4 for my level atm) for engineering. Comparing T1 fishing poles with T4 fishing poles.
If I did not misscalc or forgett something there are several ways to go:
- Craft T4 and farm all materials including refining mats
- Craft T4 and buy at least Refining mats (as the sheer amount you need for leveling is so high)
- Craft T1 and farm all materials and keel all other mats for later
- Craft T1 and sell the equivalent of Refining mats needed for T4
So it comes that:
- This will be the cheapest & fastest way if you do not sell anything in terms of costs
- This will be the fastest but cost you the most (a fortune btw) to level your crafting
- This will be twice as costy as doing T4 and not selling anything (aproximately)
- This will actually put you on a very wealthy profit but does not spare you to farm chests for refining stuff.
Since I am on a low pop server where stations sometimes are not available and you have to travel to be able to craft high tier… the 4. is sadly the easiest way to secure your gold, spare you a lot of traveling and guarantee you an income even at low level when pushing your skill.
And this is only a thing because Refining Mats are becoming a frigging Bottleneck with prices about 1 gold per piece on my server.
So I would say if you leave crafting as it is please look into the amount of refining mats. Otherwise new people will stick to T1 crafting for skill leveling and sell everything else to make a profit and only craft higher tier stuff when they can pull the max out of those (trophies/put azoth for perks etc).
Only established people with another income (OPR ie.) will probably turn to craft high tier stuff as they can afford to throw money in the market.
Or did I miss something here?
