The dev video says you want feedback. Eden needs a merge. I mostly want a functioning market and Eden’s used to be great. I’d really like that back. It seems like a no-brainer, in this case a merge would not overwhelm Maramma in the slightest.
Looking at the problem deeper, I think more thought about how to respond to the ebbs and flows in population beyond expecting people to use paid transfer tokens is needed. Otherwise paid transfer tokens become New World’s equivalent of a subscription.
I know some will say “use your second transfer token”. But for me that means abandoning my friends, at least temporarily, that aren’t playing as much right now since I cannot honestly say the population will be stable between now and fall when that new region drops. So I’m left with being stuck on the dead server with my friends that play sometimes or abandoning them for a higher pop server that will probably get locked at some point.
I simply want to play with my friends on a server with at least 500 people online at peak. Since without this population level the world rots from missing player engagement. I’ve seen this happen twice now. Not to mention that New World is SO much better with more people around.
It is really great that player engagement affects the world but mechanics from upkeep and invasions seem to range from impossible on dead servers to trivial on really high pop ones. Maybe we need better scaling of some kind to make dead worlds at least livable?
In short an Eden merge would really help my experience in the short term. Longer term I hope the team finds solutions to this population management problem. Having seen both sides, I’m rather sure lots of players have not seen New World at its best.
