i7 8700k @ 5.1GHz all core
EVGA 2080 Ti FTW 3 Ultra
CPU would swing from 30 to 60% and GPU would boost to 1985Mhz and just sit there. I used EVGA Percision X1 to take my target voltage from 100% to 60% resulting in my GPU only doing 1500Mhz and a lot cooler card sitting in queue.
One thing i did notice is with the reduced GPU speed i was still getting the same FPS in game yesterday compared to running at stock, Even doinga +140mhz core +1400Mhz ram netted only a few FPS more then stock 70 FPS on high settings at 4k, cpu would rarely go over 60% load. I would think this is not a CPU bottleneck as the CPU hardly ever goes over 50% on any core, unless it is a internet issue which im doing 479.56Mbps down and 12.31 Mbps up
90° every other game i playbon high graphics uncapped fps sit 74-78°. NEVER ONCE hit 80° let alone 90+ till this game which im now forced to cap at 30FPS low graphics just to get it to sit at 85ish
Use Rivatuner (if you have MSI Afterburner, it’s probably already installed) to cap FPS while the game is in the background or out of focus until AGS addresses the issue. That way you can tab-out and the game won’t be quite as bad on your PC, and you would still have no FPS limits while playing.
Keep in mind though that the background FPS option is hidden, and you will have to add a line to a config file to activate it. But there are guides for it online.
They probably mine crypto with your PC while you’re in the queue. Would explain why they don’t want to start more servers - they lose processing power if people can actually play!
Got a RTX 2060, ryzen 7 3700x, 32G ram, lock fps to 60, every graphic on high and got 58c CPU and 65c GPU. So yeah cap your Fps or verufy your cooling.
This game is demanding my ass. Have you bothered to read what the minimum specs are? Or even the recommended specs? I blow them out of the water. And before anyone chimes in with their bullshit about cooling. I’m showing 85% cpu on a water cooled i5-7600k sitting at 50 degrees. This is with lowest graphics and frames capped to 30. I can push the graphics to high and not see an increase in cpu usage, only gpu. There’s no way this game should be eating up this much processing power. This is not a system issue it is a game issue and it needs to be addressed
Some smart dev decided to put a fully decorated 3D live scene in the background of the character screen and by the number of people sitting in queue, it’s making a huge waste of power along with wasting resources of the PC for no reason. A simple full black jpg would have been thousand times better than this.
I personally go to settings > visuals and drop resolution all the way down to lowest 1024x768. That cools things a lot by itself and I expect would be enough for most. You can change it back once you’re in game. No need to burn so much electricty and lock your pc resources into producing character background for no reason.
True but this is their first proper game, for both Amazon Games and Helix Games. And first thing they try is the new WoW killer. (Not that WoW killed themselves with the Activision ‘thing’ recently). Give them some slack, I know you payed for something big and after all these delays you would think they would get it right but apparently not.
