Craft Appreciation

Hi,
I would like no weapons or armor to drop from dungeons or bosses. I would prefer all NW weapons and armor to be just crafted. Dungeons and bosses should only drop recipes or materials to craft items.
I understand that this would keep players longer in the game and would greatly value crafting.
I know that changing that is not easy at the moment that the NW is, but it would be very interesting.
After all, one of the things that is really well done in this game is collecting, processing and crafting.
If the AGS sees value in this change, I think they should really consider changing.
Thanks.

Thank you for this feedback @R4PTOR Anyone else have thoughts on this as well?

What?

If anything, crafting needs to be fully reworked, because of the horrible RNG system.

More BIS gear should be available from expeditions, boss drops, and elite chests.

How greedy do you have to be to want good gear to come from crafting only?..

I think the plan was to eventually roll out BIS crafts that use say all 3*200 skills at the forge. but too many have pimped crafting. So, I guess we just on farming drops.

hello @darkdayy

Obviously, the RNG to get a legendary and/or a BIS item has to be very easy. I don’t say give it away for free, but much easier.

I really LOVE this game and so I have given many constructive suggestions here on the forum. I’ve been thinking about ways for NW to be able to hold more players and compared to other games I see that one thing that holds some players is:

a) appreciation of craft
That’s why the suggestion of everything being crafted by players. Those who craft feel VERY valued. The DGs can give items to help with crafting and yes, getting the legendaries much easier. DGs can drop weak items, starters that you use at the beginning of the game or dismantle to gain items for crafting.
Example: Albion Online. I’ve played and it’s very rewarding for you to craft and sell your item easily, including medium or bad items.

b) enchantment
I already wrote a post about it the other day, enchantment is another way to hold players back, because for you to reach the maximum power of a weapon or armor you need to get several materials in DGs and open world to try to go up. Of course, it has to be very rewarding and rewarding for those who reach the maximum level.
For example: Black Desert, I’ve also played and the enchantment is very difficult but even today people collect items to try to reach the maximum power.

Anyway, I know that changing this is very complicated because it’s changing the wheel of the car in motion, but I think it’s the best way.
Thanks,

Hi @Tribune

That’s another criticism I have of the NW.
Everyone has everything. Here are some examples:

a) easy to get 200 in all professions.
I, for example, make potions, make weapons, armor, trophies, chests and I can’t sell everything I make because everyone does.

b) everyone can do the DGs. I know people who only did the Normal DG (without mutation), met the DG and never did it again because they don’t need it. He persistently picked up the gun he wanted and just waited for DG Creation or Lázaro to pick up the Umbral. There would have to be activities that you only know about and do if you have the appropriate level.

c) Processing
Everyone does it, and only buys those who belong to a large guild because they have a lot of money and don’t want to keep collecting.

My opinion is that the NW communication cries a lot and the AGS listened to the communication, facilitated, the players reached it and now there is no reason to do it because they reached the maximum.

Ahh, my suggestion for EVERYTHING to be crafted, includes crafting clothes as well.
The bosses that today drop clothing should drop the recipe for crafting, a consumable item.

The crafting is garbage level. Gathering is fairly good with a few issues, they just keep ignoring, but the crafting is utter trash.

I would much rather have more usable good gear set drops from open world mobs. It’s at least something to do and a reason to visit all the nice areas in the game that go to waste most of the time.

Expeditions are just too toxic now to waste time doing them for gear.

In my opinion this cannot happen

There is too much resource monopolization already. If the best gear is only available via crafters its going to continue to destroy resource gathering.

To your point pve/pvp modes will all need to be revamped to massively increase materials if this was the case.

I dont believe this is the answer

Id prefer to see crafting reworked with gauaranreed 600’s with fixed 3 perks on a heavy cooldown, like once a week maybe

Resouese availability is in a bad place and too large of an empasis on a handful of perks.

Need to address these core fundamentals first.

I think dungeons and bosses dropping gear is fine, yes you can get bis gear from them but it’s so rare due to RNG. 99% of gear drops are just scrapped due to them being trash. I would love options to perhaps limit the perks that can be on armor so you have slightly more control over what perks drop on armor and weapons to make getting bis gear from dungeons a little easier.

That being said, I would also like the RNG from crafted gear to go, which would increase the value of crafted gear and make it worth crafting. I think if you have put the time and effort into levelling the trade skill, spent who knows how many hours farming the trophies and then farmed the materials then you should be able to craft gear with the perks you want so you have a choice either farm for the gear from OPR, dungeons, portals etc or craft it.

You would still have some RNG for the gear because it might not roll as legendary and the 3rd perk would still be random, but I think the attribute and 2 perks should be selectable by the crafter by default.

I disagree with the OP that item drops should be removed from expeditions and replaced with crafting materials. New World has a massive RMT problem and players buy a ton of gold from third party websites to craft.

Having BoP items in expeditions, and especially challenging expeditions like M10s is a great way to reward players who actually put time in the game and not those that just swipe their credit card.

In order to combat a system that incentives pay to win through crafting, the devs should put in more BoP items for M10 players to chase with “illegal” perk combinations (see Hybris in Starstone for example). The same could be done in PvP with BOP items from PvP tracks.

No. Why you think ppl should play m10 if they want only pvp? I do both and i wont bother getting to m10 since mutations are sh1t design that does explcude mages and other builds.

Dugeons should allow to get BIS pve gear, while pvp modes - best pvp gear. Only thing to talk about is form of this. Full drops or materials + recipies.

I never said people should have to play M10s. Put the PvE gear in mutations and put the PvP gear in PvP activities.

You can do dungeons with any weapons/builds, sure having all melee makes it easier for the healer you can still do them with range. I believe the devs mentioned in one of the videos that they plan to remove the elemental resistance for mobs which will mean mages will be able to do dungeons too.

have them drop ingredients, materials, coin and umbral shards. but yeah dropping entire legendary weapons and armour is just a bad idea.

same goes for pvp modes like wars, opr, and arena.
