Craft quest - I accidentally salvaged armor for quest

I love this game and i usually never rant but…HOW…on mothers earth…can you create such a quest and NOT think about the fact that people will likely salvage the items if they don’t have a quest marker on them??? My friend asked me if he can salvage it and i said yes no worry, this would be the worst quest design in history if you will need them later…welp!!!

Lol, we all salvaged the armors ? :joy: :joy: :joy: :joy: seems like i’m not the only one

I salvaged literally everything without knowing. Please help!

Following, I did the same thing with the Wyrd Shoes :man_facepalming:

Has there been an official response from AGS or a community manager on this yet? I’m in the same boat where I salvaged them when I found better gear - there was nothing explained about warning us not to get rid of them. It seems kinda counter-intuitive to not provide us with a means to re-create them.

Same problem, but love to hear it will be solved with a patch in the future. Thank you!

I salvaged them because of the useless stats, intentionally.
Disappointing that there is no warning that we should not salvage them.

Same here, I was over-leveled for the items by the time I got around to doing the Battle’s Embrace stuff and had better gear so I salvaged them not knowing about the upgrade. I haven’t finished the quests for the Wyrd or Shrouded yet so I will remember to not salvage them when the time comes but a warning or something really should be there to prevent this kind of thing.

This happened to me due to a salvage bug where there is no confirmation prompt that appears before you can salvage an item. I lost 2 quest items due to this. If this case happens, they should at least have a feature wherein players can redo/reset a quest if this scenario happens, or indicate that the quest has failed if the quest item is lost. Another option is to segregate the quest item from the usual looted gear in the inventory. Sadly, this quest items don’t even have any special indicator on it (like those other quest items in the inventory), that’s why accidental salvaging happens as this items are simply mixed together with normal items/loots.

In other games, quest items usually require double prompt or a much more restricted mechanic for it to be salvaged. This way it makes players aware and prevent quest items from getting salvaged by accident.

Not sure what Amazon games’ intent about this kind of quest to begin with, but from the way they respond from other threads concerning this similar topic, they seem to be unsure on how to deal with issues like this in relation to how they have designed the quest. Unless they really intended this items to be something that is really unrecoverable, they should just put a fix to allow players to be able to recover items or redo this quest.

Same here :frowning:

We need a solution

Same here.

Same here … Found this topic before I even get to that point of the quest.

Why can you salvage this items ?? My Isabella amulet cannot be salvage, why it is not the same here ??

any updates??

Bump, Any updates? this has been around forever its really annoying being unable to complete the quests due to accidentally salvaging it.

Ideas for fixes

1: No items are given back, but you will unlock the recipes to craft the items after initially completing the quest, being able to craft the item (again) to complete the quest even if salvaged more then once, also more info added to item that its required for future quests. (preferred)

2: Items that have been salvaged are recovered, also same as above you will be given the recipe to craft the item again, and tooltips that item will be required later.

3: Having to quests again to obtain the item, (This is the worst option hours upon hours wasted if this is used).

Suggestion 1 makes the most sense to me, if they are crafted as BoP with 0 exp, then there isn’t any effect on the game, we can just finish the quest

Not that I need it but I also salvaged the quest items without knowing anything about the possibility to upgrade them. Now I am with the upgrade mats in in storage glittering my space

I also salvaged the items from that quest … still no feedback from support?

Somehow I even lost Purified Protective Wyrd Hat…

wow there are many people who destroyed craft quest items like me :frowning:

Same here  What should we do for this quest now? I think that quest items shouldn’t be salvaged.
