Based on your data the drop rate seems awfully close to 1/16 chance.
Maybe gear and town buff that increases the minimal GS doesn’t change the throw from 1/16 to 1/6 but maybe it maps 1/16 into 1/6? So we still roll 585-600 but:
585,586,587 gets mapped into 595
588,589,590 gets mapped into 596
591,592,593 gets mapped into 597
594,595,596 gets mapped into 598
597,598,599 gets mapped into 599 and finally
600 gets mapped into 600
Sadly nobody will test this because too much time is at stake but it may be the reason why the rate is so low. It could turn out that 590-600 gives a higher chance but this is pure speculation. That is if the change is unintentional -it may have been planned by the devs from the start.
I’m very interested in an official reply to this. I crafted myself a set of 590+ GS armour as a “get-me-by” and I have now amassed a stockpile of materials with the intention of trying for something better. From this thread it looks like the chance of crafting legendary with 595-600 crafting is about 6-7%, and since I only have minor trophies my crafting range is actually 589-600, so the odds don’t look great for me. I’d probably be much better off selling my materials and buying best in slot gear which is kind of sad given the effort I put into levelling my amouring.
I don’t think you’ll ever see an actual number. Developers don’t usually tell those to the public because it would look pretty bad for them.
Yes, you would be better off selling your materials and buying your gear. Chances are that all those materials would just end up in your salvage screen for some repair parts and a few gold. I mean you could get ultra lucky and get A piece of gear but you are more likely to be heavily disappointed and uninstall the game.
The problem is that if everyone thought the same way, there will be no gear for sale on the market. We need a fix/patch/reveal w/e to know exactly what is going on. I craft gear for income since the start and it has been really bad after the umbral shards patch. I very rarely get any leggos now, and when I get them it’s Reinforced + Reinforced Gathering Luck.
From my recent experience, if you enjoy crafting and want to try and roll leggos, I’d recommend waiting for a bit and see what is going on. Otherwise, just buy whatever you need or order them from other crafters. It has been super bad after the umbral shards patch.
Yeah when they added more perks and craft mods, the situation got even worse.
The 2 best pieces I crafted so far also have logging luck.

Theoretically of course. In practice it does nothing because luck is broken too.
Ever since the last major patch, the chance of crafting a 600 GS item seems to have fallen off a cliff. I rolled 43 jewelry pieces in a row before I got a legendary.
The whole thing is kinda odd. I crafted five pieces of jewelry yesterday, using timeless shards and max bonuses (town buff, gear, food) and rolled three legendaries. Same situation crafting armor…out of ten pieces…not one above 597. No clue what’s going on with the RNG.
