Is crafting supposed to be some sadistic joke by the devs? Honestly 15 weapons crafts today alone and all purples. What the fuck does very high chance even mean at this point, .01% chance? I have made over 60+ weapons and some how only got 5 shitty legendary weapons. Thousands of gold spent to get the gear, houses, trophies, the damn mats to make the weapon and this is what crafting is…MORE FUCKING RNG. Why is it so hard for the devs to just make something that is not RNG carried to hell. And gold scabs are joke they seem more gimmicky than the system before. After spending crazy amounts of time and effort to get to 595-600 it all boils down to good rng, thats like slap in the face to all the work and time people put in to getting to max crafting rank.
-And for anyone wondering yes i have 595-600 crafting.
without RNG literally everything you could craft would only have the value of the materials. It would be so easy to make BIS nothing would be worth anything, and you may as well remove crafting from the game and let us buy BIS from the faction vendor.
Idk why so many people live in this delusional world that without RNG you would make soooo much money crafting, when it is literally the exact opposite. Take chef/Furnisher for example, you basically cannot make money because people list all crafts at under resource cost.
Gotta love people who assume, im not trying to make money im trying to make my damn gear and cant because of RNG in SYSTEM THAT HAS THE HIGHEST COST OF ENTRY in the game. And also who the hell said remove rng were did i type that at? Stop trying to add words to the post to make some point in your head. My point is RNG plays to much of role in something that has the highest cost in the game to do.
this system needs revamped heavily i like RnG but not currently at what it takes to do this. Mats are expensive having to have gear/buffs/food only to be 595-600 i said it before and ill say it again they just need to uncap the upper end of crafting let people who have worked hard to acquire everything they need should have better chances for legendaries cause NOT ALL LEGENDARIES ARE BIS. as crafters we could do 595-620 it helps add a catch up mechanic helps increase price of gear because of higher gear score and it feels more rewarding even if they needed to revamp the perk buckets and make getting end game gear tougher atleast make rolling legendaries mroe viable even if most are trash
The problem is that the RNG system revolves around having a rare chance at a “success” and the rest are all failures or virtual failures. This is a product of a crafting system that only has a handful of meaningful perks on each class of gear. Which perks are “bis” for a musket might vary from what’s “bis” for an axe, but for the most part, you are only aiming for one best result in each case.
The way to fix crafting is by making all perks equally viable in their own way. Then the legendary rate can be high, but you don’t always get what you are shooting for (rng), but the result is still useful to someone. My suggest is that the perks that give resistances to various types of things, like freedom, vigor, invigorated, etc, - all of these should be much stronger (maybe as much as 30 or 40%) but exclusive, so you can’t stack it. Just one piece with it is as much as you can get. In this way, players will want to craft 1 piece with that perk on it, but the exact piece for each person might vary depending on what they have already, so it creates a subsystem of demand that varies for each person, while still maintaining the power level of the perk involved. ie. if someone already has a headpiece with freedom, they won’t have a high demand for another piece with freedom (unless revamping their total set), but the power level of a non-head piece with freedom is still high (and other players who still need this body piece with freedom will still seek it).
Otherwise, just make all perks good! We don’t need resilient to be king of all - it’s boring. Everything should be strong, and have a purpose. Then suddenly the crafting world is vibrant, because there’s a wide assortment of very niche but powerful pieces that not everyone wants, but someone definitely wants, so people still must do alot of crafting, but equipment is never so worthless as it is now when you get something you personally don’t want.
I personally don’t care how valuable the gear is or how much money crafters make or don’t make. What I care about is how improbable it is that ANY useful item will be crafted or generated via loot that I will use. Crafting is utterly frustrating on its own and we can force multiple perks now and still not get what we are after even after sinking in hundreds of thousands of gold. Something is wrong with that system. You should be able to entirely gear your self for gold cap not spend gold cap or more for one item.
Any individual equipment item that costs gold cap or more is too rare. Supply needs to be increased.
