They over shot it like usual. Lol. When they say they reduced ward and luck on rolling… They damn near deleted it. Lmao.
Not every roll was BiS but almost every weapon had keen/vicious, health and divine were very common on amulets and on 32 chestpieces I only rolled 3 completely trash perks
All this leaves me wondering.
Given that AG is accelerating the process of getting the ultimate BIS equipment. Which is the main goal of the vast majority of players who still play.
So what happens next?
Will there still be a lot of interest in farming’s chests if we don’t need anything else?
Will we be able to explore the whole new map alone if we are not properly equipped?
I’m looking forward to seeing how AG will answer these last two questions.
It’s not like we’re all gonna be BiS in two days. There’s still a significant grind it’s just not near impossible.
They need a lower scale second layer.
I think using the stopwatch to reset gear back to 600 and retaining it’s +1 stat and then add one on reset to cause +2/+2/+2 on 3 resets should be implimented.
I dont believe getting bis gear is the end goal and people stop playing.
I believe getting bis gear to enable people to play their goal more effectively whether its pvp in multiple classes or mutations in full bis ward with weapon perks.
Im technically forced into one class for competitive wars because my other gear just doesnt sit at the same level…and having spent almost 2mill gold collectively on one class i certainly would be more likely to quit trying to do the other classes in that system than quit after ive gotten every class i want to play.
It just means we can participate in the end game activities as effeciently as we would like.
No one is going to bother buying and testing sets with as rare and expensive as gear is right now. This will open up tons, and tons of options and variations to the current meta, make them way more obtainable so you won’t just have a single BiS that costs 15 gold caps to obtain.
We will have lots of sets that are good at lots of different things <3
Tell them that two craftable items which can be used to ‘reroll’ parts of a weapon would solve enough problems that crafters are facing they probably wont complain again.
Stat Reroll Gem - Rerolls the attributes of a weapons
Perk Reroll Gem - Rerolls a single perk on the weapon
With these two items the price of crafted equipment will roughly stabilize with a closer min/max range of pricing far more realistic then we currently have as a ‘junk’ weapon could be turned into a great weapon therefor its price will be higher, and a great weapons price will become lower as it can be realistically achieved by average players who tried rerolling a perk they didn’t like until they got one that is serviceable for their wants/needs and is happy, basic design stuff here lmao
Crafting cost would range from using umbral shards, high end crafting materials, named craftable weapon legendary materials (they are worthless so this would give them value - 'serpent handgrip, empowered counterbalance, ice crystal core, ect) Whatever the ‘guy in charge of crafting’ deems a fair cost to create these two items, amazon burocracy be damned without “throwing players a bone soon theyll just leave your doghouse” in more then just crafting but thats what this topic is about
I think using umbral to reroll 1 perk or attribute and make it BOP will fix a lot of problems, give more value to umbral and get gear in a better place.
I agree. Even if they change the RNG element to either 3rd perk or 600 GS would be a huge improvement.
If I can select 2 perks and stat, I’m still not guaranteed 3rd perk or even legendary which will still necessitate crafting hundreds to get ‘best’ item. However it will allow me more flexibility to craft multiple gear sets for different weapons/roles in a way that will at least raise the floor of competition across the board.
As it is now, farming up a gear set for a certain weapon combination is SOOOOO difficult, that when AGS makes such terrible nerfs to your builds your only option is to whine/moan/complain on forums. Or in the case of my friends, just quit the game entirely!
90% of my friends that were playing quit because their build got heavily nerfed, and they didn’t want to regrind gear to be competitive anymore. When 1000 hours was pretty much dedicated to a certain build, only to have the rug yanked out from underneath them felt so bad they uninstalled.
If I could at least make 590+ gear with guaranteed 2 perks and stat, I could more easily move on to other options even if the crafted items aren’t legendary and best in slot.
Agreed,it’s hot , hot, garbage. Max furnisher and archanist and I haven’t crafted any firestaffs,VG’s etc etc in months. I stopped after doing 100’s & 100’s with hated, and trenchant crits (on a weapon with no grit wtf). I 100% don’t mind the grind, heck I’ve been playing lost ark. But when it seems that no rational thought has been put into the process, it’s too much.
My recommendation… Assign a dev or intern to craft for 3 hours each day for say a week. Have them farm the mats to craft them too. Then get their feedback
hmm well after taking a break from new world (Grinding got a little boring) Without doubt weapon smiting is a grind, mass amounts of materials required etc to get to 200. I just spent 100,000 gold to finish the final 20-30 levels, just could not be assed anymore. That’s just one issue.
Please note I have played alot of mmo’s ( I like the genre), the older ones had grinds in a league of their own, the difference is they were designed well. The original EQ2 crafting was all interconnected, you as a sage could not level sage skills past level 20 without material input from other crafters (they had to ditch this in the end). This system in NW is the time sync they intended for sure.
bonus lootbox note: even today EQ2 housing is the best around with regards to what can be displayed, it really is
Remember everything in an mmo resolves around content, content they want to re-use as much as possible (saves money). The biggest issue a developer has it to keep a good supply of fresh content, has been from day one. (hence the legendary weapons in gw2, will literally take you years to make them all)
Despite what anyone says New World is a business. Peop’s just have to accept that. Few games will ever be made for the love of games like they were in days past. The gaming industry pulls more dollar than Hollywood. The big money boys have moved in and you are seeing the results, re-occurring revenue models (They call it live service in this industry). they get you to pay 20-30 time over for the same thing if you just follow the herd. And you/us will keep on doing it.
Personal Observation:
Stop attacking anyone that has a different option, just acknowledge the difference and if you can be bothered politely point out why you think the other persons outlook maybe biased or mistaken (from your point of view). Hard to do in this post trump/brexit times we live in for sure.
