Crafting is DISGUSTING

i think theres room for interesting crafting stuff if you could use additional stuff on a crafting result to change it after the fact.

Much like umbral shards to up the gearscore of an item so long as it reaches a certain standard, if there were ways of augmenting crafting results that werent just garbage and only worthy of quick salvaging into something worthwhile that would be awesome!

People could make the judgement call on whether certain crafted items are close enough to be augmented into something good or if it should just be scrapped.

i dont think you should be able to make a BiS item (urgh i hate that term) from a poor roll of an item, but have some give and take maybe, eg:
remove 1 perk of your choice on an item to change 1 perk to any perk you desire.
remove a perk to add a gem slot
remove some attribute points from max to homogenise a split attribute roll into one attribute.
remove a perk or gem slot or attribute point(s) to add gearscore to the item if that item is below 590gs.

that sort of thing.

using some legendary tier5 materials to do that would be understandable imho. i wouldnt not like all augmentations to be entirely subject to RNG dropped items though.

I think three things need to happen to make crafting better.

  1. Improve odds of obtaining a 600 to be actually 1/6 for a 595/600 crafter or 1/11 for 590/600 crafter.
  2. Increase drop rates or availability of trophy mats & clothing required to get to 595.
  3. Allow selecting of perk pools for the last two perks.

Today’s perks:

  1. Attribute = Guaranteed by timeless Shard
  2. Gem slot = Guaranteed selectable by + azoth + gem
  3. Perk 1 = Guaranteed by Mod + azoth
  4. Perk 2 = completely random
  5. Perk 3 = completely random

Imagine if 4/5 you could select from small pool of perks? Would still be random and still not make crafting completely controllable, but it would make it significantly more useful.

For example:
Spear Pool: selecting this pool would randomly give you one of the 6 perks that exist for that weapon
Bane Pool: selecting this pool would give you a random offensive advantage against one of the various mob types.
Ward Pool: random damage absorption vs a various mob type
Luck Pool: random loot or gathering luck perk.
Offense Pool: random pool containing non weapon specific perks like vicious, keen, enchanted
Defense Pool: random pool containing items like resilient, freedom, invigorated

Probably what should happen is pure con, and pure con food should be removed from the game, specifically on crafted things.

And capped at 10 asmodeum, runic leather and phoenix weave a day. Also capped by competing with bots and slow node respawn times.

exaclty Crafting as it is is just NON existent and makes no sense at all…
You need to win a lottery to get a good perk and it’s insane.
This has to be adressed fast.
And for the people that say IT SHOULDNT BE EASY : My answer is, this SHOULD BE EASY because we should focus on how to match perks for a more personal approach to PVP content,PVP gameplay!
People can choose energy, fortify, empower, criticals, and many more perks that could come out!

And what u use on ur build should make the difference + ur game skills!
NOT RNG on this type of thinGS AT LEAST A 50% chance to get what u need or even 40% but… 0.01 chance to get your desired perks are way too low and frustrating without rewarding anyone.

Doesnt make sense that running that boring tempest could give you random BIS parts that have no skill on them…
And when you lvl up crafting and melt ur mind to find all the trophies and crafter armors, to find out you cannot actually craft anything…
Really Terrible for the game. Actually has to be adressed! Immidiately!

Yeah, reinforced should be more armor perk.

It makes more sense but i still feel that being a master crafter should make you BE ABLE TO MAKE YOUR CRAFT AS U WANT!
(small RNG included no doubt)!!!

Probably give more hustle, more grind, maybe with 3v3 arenas get points that you can buy guaranteed armor slot(perk) you wish! MAybe even make it HARD and time consuming! But let me have what i need…

-Maybe gather 100k+ faction points to get a desired PVP perk!
-Maybe give us a world boss that spawns once every week and to kill it u need to be flagged and whoever faction kills it they get a few drops with an item that gives u guaranteed perk!
-Maybe with winning 200 games of OPR you get a guaranteed perk of desire!
-Maybe gives us an Area that u need to be flagged to step there, and kill STRONG AF mobs that give you drops that when u gather a lot of them, you get that item that turns into a desired perk!

MAYBE we can have a perk REROLL!

All that, plus u will need to be a crafter to use those items that give you desired perk!

Yeah I get what your saying. I think there has to be -some- rng otherwise the economy takes a crap because it’s too easy to produce good items. Maybe having an additional selection of BOP vs BOE on the crafting interface makes sense as well? BOP items you are crafting for yourself get less rng and you can use them as a reward for leveling your skill. BOE items that you sell are subjected to more RNG since you are looking to make money.

There’s a difference between having patience and playing a lottery.

Patience implies you can work toward something and eventually get it, but you can’t do that with a lottery.

The crafting system in this game is way too much effort for way too uncertain of a reward.

Wherever i see beast ward and durability i want to destroy something IRL.

Just bumping because i am too sadenned at the state of crafting.

Spent 50k on mats to salvage everything.

Nobody buys your “off-cuts” because by now everyone has either what they want or close to what they want.

Only BIS sells. And the rate of bis rng…that’s almost never for the majority.

I wish i was the crafter for EF main company getting to roll 3mill gold in armor for the army but alas…im but a pleb.

And i will be broke soon with little to no BIS.

Uhm. So like, this is so not a new topic and this issue has been addressed with many threads. As a mostly life skiller who is willing to ignore some crafting issues, like most of the people posting in the threads, I have to say that now, in 2022, with all the game changes since alpha 2019, crafting is pointless (mostly) and yes, getting the item you want is next to impossible. And with the current bot issue preventing us from harvesting mats, the RNG aspects of getting the exact perks you need out of the stupid huge pool there is now, it’s just scammy. I never NEVER crafted in a game so hell bent on making it so hard to get customizable gear. It really is “disgusting”.

Agree. You cannot choose what to craft to any useful degree. The quick fix would be to site the RNG in the power level of the perks not the randomness of them - you can choose them all but getting them at max value is the hard bit. Could even limit to a slight max below drops and would be better than current state. Currently an expensive lottery of no use rather than a skill encouraging experimentation with different builds.

Not being able to select which attribute and perks is my biggest disappointment. I though (naively) with PVP part of this game that skill would have been more important than gears in a confrontation. Big companies owning very profitable territories have an unfair advantage to offer their members BIS gears since they can afford the perks lottery. I’m a gamer not a gambler and I don’t like this.

On the other hand, if we get to control over the attribute and perks what will be the incentive of running dungeons? There is not much end game PVE content…

You may be surprised. The majority of players likely aren’t even 600 expertise across the board yet.

Others like to have multiple builds. For example I have a 625 luck set and have my spear bow pvp set at about -620 at the moment. Once I have that done, I’ll be looking for musket, sword, hatchet pieces as well. I don’t always want to play the same build.

I do think people tend to over price their off-cuts. Sadly only the BIS will “make” money. The others will just minimize their losses.
