***Crafting*** items should increase the crafter's watermark!

That’s so far from the the truth. 15k gets you no where. Maybe a few levels. 150k. Maybe. They nerfed leveling crafting in November update. Now they are nerfing it even more

if u spent 700 hours raising 1 crafting skill and have low WM ur playing the game wrong. I’ve maxed multiple crafts and have Max WM. Just spend money

So are they going to back log my 200 armoring and engineering? hmmm… What do you mean what am i complaining about.

In 700 hours you only did 1 tradeskill to 200?

I do understand your frustration, but this system will make the game better in the long run and you can continue to craft and raise your HWM. Or maybe do some other things.

You obviously made money during that time so all progress is not lost. You just have a new progression system to grind. AND they added progress to crafting post 200 which you will be a leg up on.

Do you feel you should be max power level from just crafting? Makes no sense.

The game was designed to have crafting/Hwm equal. The devs said it was the goal.

The crafting gypsum has a daily cap and the expertise could be minimal from it.

I think it might be a better system, but it punishes the current crafters who didnt grind HWM.

I’ve said this in another thread… if I can make my own, I should be able to use my own. If I can craft a 600 weapon, I should be able to use that very same weapon.

This is the way.

I think the real issue here is that AGS sold this game to many people on a premise of “play the way you want to play”. And that included crafting, a system they hyped quite a bit. Some loved running elite zones, and got HWM up quickly. Some loved to keep combat more low key, and levelled crafting as their primary in game time. Some focused mainly on PvP. And now, we’re being told “Oh, ya, when we said however you want, we meant as long as you don’t want a GS over 500. To do that, you have to do it the way we now think you should.” If this wasn’t about HWM, let’s say AGS put in a new patch that ruled you can’t use any gear or food or potions higher than what you can currently make yourself, people would lose it. And rightfully so. It’s not about anyone asking for freebies or handouts or wanting to be best at everything for no effort. It’s about being told you can do things and then having goalposts moved and rugs pulled out from under you just because.

If people are already at GS 600, great. I hope they enjoyed the route there, and had fun playing the way they wanted to. But others took different routes to play, routes AGS told them would be just as viable. And now AGS is reversing that decision, so it’s understandable people are getting pissed off.

Many people chose NW because it was laid out as a game where whether you wanted to grind, PvP, be hardcore or casual, you still had a chance to enjoy the game, including expeditions and high level zones, at your own pace. Now, that has changed to you can do all of that with GS up to 500, unless you do this other thing we added after the fact that you probably don’t want to do. If AGS posted a patch for January saying “To encourage more crafting, we’ve implementing a new system for gear. Everyone who has high expertise will still be able to use anything up to their expertise level, but only if your crafted it yourself.” players would lose it. Just like the people who chose not to spend hundreds of hours grinding HWM because they were told they didn’t have to are pissed now, people who chose to not spend hundreds of hours grinding crafting to make their own gear would be pissed. And they should be.

And as far as raising expertise through crafting, all AGS has acknowledged so far is that if you are level 200 (which they just raised the XP requirements for) and you keep crafting, you will get a chest that might have emerald gypsum, which you can use to increase expertise in a manner we haven’t shown yet. That’s hardly an encouragement stacked against “BTW, we stripped you of the ability to use the gear you made to it’s full potential, even though you worked hard to be able to make because we told you that you would get the full potential.”

But, just my thoughts on it.

Cheers

You can! It’s not going to be a 600 Effective GS™ weapon until you hop on the Expertise treadmill and run 'till you drop. You’ll still have the pretty 600 to look at though.

This is the new way.

Ähhhm… no? If you have let’s say 10-15 skills at 200 then you are a crafter before that you are a scrub. ^^

This is one of the few changes I’d like to see

More like 150k.

And just as you say, anyone could get their HWM up fast before the recent patch.

That’s just not enough. This new system will screw all crafters over.

The goal of watermark is to force people out into end game content…
Letting the people who exploit and have 45-100k gold the way to BUY your way to the top is not a good idea…

i concur

You most must be broke.

I think I’ve got about 8k.
I usually use it up…
PvP’ing drains your money for consumables.

Thank you.

Exactly, it like saying everyone is a billionaire because “you too can be rich if you put your mind to it”.
