Crash on Startup

Experiencing the crash on the Amazon Games logo screen. Forcing my fps to 60 with nvidia control panel fixed it for one launch. Then it crashed again. Used the custom virtual memory it then fixed it for one launch. Now can’t get past loading screen again. Have tried the integrity of files, EAC fix, everything to no avail. Never once did I experience this during the early access days or beta. Pretty frustrating to spend so much time just trying to get the game to launch.

MSI MPG x570 mobo
AMD Ryzen 9 3900x
Asus 1060 GFX card
32GB RAM

We are sorry about that issue that you are facing with your New world game gaittensjj, just to double check with you did you try to uninstall and reinstall New World and reinstall Easy Anti-Cheat :thinking:

guys do you have a pop up with an error code on your screen ? :thinking:

No popups. PC will completely shut down at New World logo :frowning:

Come on guys, so many reports of the black screen, 100% gpu fan speed crashes which is known to be caused by the power spikes this game and this game only causes. And please stop using the “poor quality new gpu models” excuse, I mean look, this guy has a freaking 1060. I have a 3080, same thing for me. There’s 1080’s 2080’s 3090’s and many various amd gpu’s aswell. And the crashes happened on this game and this game alone for all of us. Can we please start taking this more seriously, can you at least tell us you’re still working with gpu manufacturers to try to figure it out or did you stop investigating like one of the other mods pretty much said on another post?

Same thing here! I think we just have to decide if we’re willing to wait for a fix or want to return/be refunded for the non-functional product.

  1. Press Windows+R on the keyboard, type %appdata% and press enter.
  2. Open the most recent file from this folder: /AppData/local/AGS/LogBackups.
  3. Paste the contents of the file into your message.

My logs are from october 3rd since I haven’t dared to play the game since that horrifying crash as it made my pc sound like a rocket and monitor lost signal from the gpu. I also didn’t try it with the “fixes” you recommend because i read many forums posts and seen non of them work for people and I don’t want to fry my gpu being a test dummy. The fix I do see around is to lower gpu power limit but I’m still not convinced that’s 100% safe.

I am having the exact same issues. I have the same GPU and specs as OP. When the compass starts rotating on the loading screen, my fps is at 60 then goes straight to 1. This is where it either crashes (80% of the time) or it makes it to the amazon logo screen. I’ve been dealing with this since the first open beta. I figured it would be fixed by now. It is getting increasingly worse. This is no way can be user error or lack of hardware because when I do get to launch, I can run the game on high with no issue and barely any framerate drop outside of a city. This is 100% on steam, amazon, new world, satan, something… but it’s not my computer.

edit: Now it crashes everytime. I don’t know what changed over night, but I can’t even get to the epilepsy screen.
