Criticisms; Wishlist; Critique: New World is Not a Sandbox: There is Approximately Nothing to Do at Endgame Except Getting BIS and Collecting Money

Criticisms / Wishlist:

Stop pulling out the weapon when accessing gameplay interaction menus.

Allow actions during gameplay interaction menus.

Save hidden and shown categories at accessed crafting stations.

Keep the player in the crafting station menu and start crafting when the button’s pressed (bug).

Make shopping “Can Equip” show all equipment that’s valid (bug).

Have fundamental options for the TP, including displaying gem bonuses on the tooltip of raw gems, displaying buy orders on the first page of the item, allowing AH item comparison to what’s equipped, filters such as by stats and of words within perks, selecting multiple listings and buying, saving what item you were on in “buy”, listing new sell orders at the top of their pricing, displaying which orders are yours, sorting by name on “my orders”, showing which active orders are where, selecting from the inventory, “recent items”, a shopping list: multiple item searching that displays the lowest sell and buy prices, saving the last trade’s timespan and pricing, sorting sold items via chronology, only delivering purchases to from where they’re sold, and exporting prices.

Have more PvP options; correlatively is replacing character levels; another is risks:rewards.

Reduce availability of resources and increase uses. Even WoW has a lot of items, but it’s still a themepark, and it would be considered so if it had controlling territories. What defines an economy is repairs and replacements, and it was a hugely odd decision making durability based only on repair parts and coin.

Critique:

New World is not a sandbox. There is approximately nothing to do at endgame except getting BIS and collecting money.

Edit: Moving while in menus was patched in; congratulations.

In your opinion, what are acceptable avenues for “End Game” activities that would constitute a sandbox?

Ahhhhhhhh. No.

Isn’t the point of a sandbox to have no endgame? Just a continuation of player created content with no real progression to an endgame. An endgame presumes that there is a beginning, middle and end which a sandbox does not have if my understanding is correct.

A). Content has been listed as the most correlative of subscription count / concurrent player numbers.
B). Sandbox gameplay is defined by replacing items (amount of money * velocity spent = price of items * quantity available [MV=PQ]).

Ultimately, it’s about gathering, crafting, and trading and item loss PvP. The how-to velocity of trading is that either one-way or resource-intensive equipment durability, and maybe eventual item drops, are even what produce worthwhile variability in power: it’s OK having god loot when how lasting it is comes from evasion / skillfulness.

Not an argument.

“Endgame” is mostly defined by leveling existance. The problem is when an economy is approximately only utilized for leveling. …When a character and equipment are maxed, what is there to do?

I see what you are saying,

I don’t really disagree, i was really hoping they would have stuck to their original vision in regard to combat, durability and honestly pretty much everything. That’s what sold me on the game in the first place.

I really feel like i got bamboozled.

What we have now is very much a themepark, but it’s eating itself from the inside, because no one is buying tickets and riding the ride except for the ones who didn’t leave.

Sometimes a no is enough.

Example.

What does this mean and how does it improve quality of life?

I think you need to section this properly and use bullet points. Cause it all looks like criticism.

I am having a hard time figuring out what you actually want thatll make everyone experience better.

Seems like you are just complaining about the bare bone mechanics. Which is improving as they add more pvp modes and dungeons with muts.

Just read the patch.
Tldr . you made a long opinionated post that doesnt convey any sincere benefits.

And i like fighting my friends in opr all day.

Sounds like YOUR motives is to play for money.

Which doesnt go for everyone. If you tired of the game then you should take a break.

Seems pretty cut and dry to me. Long troll post. Just no.

Also i dont need to argue about video games.

You can agree to disagree.
My no is a flat out disagreement.

You can speak your piece about it but you should try to not over insinuate a stance just because you need to feel heard or seen.

Equipment switching; movement during menu interaction.

That’s OK.

It’s not obvious why.

The likelihood of anything there getting edited without forum criticism is low. Yet those are some of the most simple functionalities.

No.

There are like 12k people playing.

Sometimes.

I barely played at 60. I don’t want to BIS, and I don’t want to pull 3-5 stacks of 3.5 minute, on-the-ground, 1,000 inventory weight just to post on the auction house after fulfilling buy orders.

The game was very mediocre from launch until now, e.g., 2/10.

They already have this function.
You can run while inventory is out.
They just changed the delay between swapping too.

… Not sure how this adds anything?
You mean in the store…?

Ok.
Uh. No.

It’s not okay. That is why i clarified my confusion

This is why i keep telling people to wait till after patch to complain atleast give it a few days.

This makes you look like you are talking out your ass.
Do you want a link to the patch notes?

I just wanna help and you making it difficult.

Then obviously your fun is dependent on how much money you can spend.
If you could spend 4 million on making BIS you wouldnt be complaining.

So you dont wanna play 3v3 arena? You basically gave up and mad at the world?

Are you even trying to listen to me? Im trying to help you here.

You only see it as mediocre cause you didnt put in the time to have BIS. So now you mad at me and mad at anyone trying to help you see how ridiculous this looks.

Tldr : your opinions are bias. Stop playing for money, should probably switch gears. If you are burnt out take a break.

~OK, but you still can’t action reliably, e.g., switch weapons and attack. It’s not that big of a deal.

There are a lot of points.

A lot of that has been a criticism for a while.

What else do you want me to do?

It should be open world gameplay.

I can talk only as pve player. Endgame is a showcase, but game lack features to do that.

-building, when you do your own house, brick by brick, you have something to be proud of,
-decoration, not only for buffs
-player owned land
-player built and managed villages
-wild life taming and farming with some rare creatures to tame
-mounts, not really for speed, but for showing (imagine taming and riding a giant turkey)
-player built in his/her own house their own crafting tables, to starve greedy companies.
And so on…

If you gonna say there aint nothing to do and trash talk the mechanics i expect you to be thorough.

Mister " not an argument" wants to play the simplified route mhm i see you.

Uh make friends.
Help people. Enjoy the experience? Maybe teaxh ppl how to do mutations? Maybe give ppl free runs?

Collect money after you do one good deed ? Maybe fish? Is your fishing 200?

Fishing is chill. Also makes good money. They made it better tbh just use hotspots lvl 3

Try being serious. The trading post is barely functional and the world gameplay is barely relevant.

Sir let me remind you this is a video game.
How perfect is it supposed to be ?
The fact thing are kinda crazy adds to the distractions from reality.

Or is that not the point?

Are you now rebeling against escapism cause idk how deep you wanna go.

Open world?

You live in a sand box. Make your own adventure

Yup, pretty much only cheaters, RMTers, and shitters are the only ones left enjoying this game now.

“Perfect”.

Science has defined motivation since 1985.

You talk motivation while lacking inspiration to even make your own fun.

Seems like you disconnected yourself.
No one can fix this but you.

Again. Your thoughts hold no power over you unless you let them. The more you feed your intrusive thoughts like a plant the stronger they will grow.

Look that up in how negativity can damage the brain. Since you love neuroscience

I asked what you want me to do while having a maxed player character and gear.
