Cross-server "Mercenary" idea for territory wars and open world pvp

TLDR: Let players sign up for wars and Open PvP on the less populated servers for their faction.

My idea is to add “cross realm Open world PvP/ Wars” of sorts. Essentially the aim would be to get Open world PvP and Wars more populated on less populated servers. We know that realms and OPR are getting cross realm support at some point so this system would be to support open world PvP and War sign-ups in a similar way without actually having to make separate servers and to help balance factions on different less populated servers.

So what a player would do is choose from a drop down list a second, less populated server to be a “Mercenary” for . The number of available slots on the list would be determined from faction population and the player would only be able to see their character’ s current faction. If their faction is dominate on a certain server then that server won’t be on the list.

Once the player finds a suitable server then they are transported to that server auto-flagged for PvP and the person cannot unflag while on this server, if they do then they are automatically teleported back to their home server( obviously they would flag down at outposts etc) . Another restriction would be to disable crafting and gathering tools so as to prevent exploiting the system to gather resources( though maybe just regulate the amount they could gather?), trading would be disabled as well. The only channel available would be the faction channel to coordinate with the rest of the faction.

The player would be able to progress their PvP reward track per usual and maybe get bonus XP and rewards for participating.

Obviously, this system would take time to implement but I think that it would alleviate some of the death spiral we see in less populated servers who don’t have enough players to participate in the territory wars while also maintaining the uniqueness of each server.
