Crouch Healing Exploit Used to Take Territory in War

Well, considering this was on Thursday… I’m not sure I track with your logic here. The mod on this sub has been active on other posts, but ignored requests for a follow up here.

It’s clear that AGS has no interest in dealing with this, which is a huge bummer. What a disappointing development and moderation team.

What? “considering this was thursday…i’m not sure i track with your logic” . . . .

Looks at what Luxendra stated of "We are putting in a fix for the crouch issue TONIGHT (bolded TONIGHT for you, so you’d be able to read it very easily)

How do you say it’s clear that AGS has no interest when AGS literally stated they fixed that issue and identified the other and will fix it when the patch comes? ? ? did you just miss the Orange text that is different colored from all the other text? or just intentionally blind?

Fixing exploits without punishing the exploiters is like giving a homeowner a new lock after his house was broken into and letting the burglar walk away in plain sight.

Every glitch, every exploit and every cheat that is found will be MASSIVELY abused just because everyone has learned that they get away with it. Horrible practice. You have LOTS of players. Kick the ones out ruining it for everyone, or you will lose a lot more people from frustration and dismay about the game than you would ban.

All of my posts have been about punitive measures for exploiters and restorative measures for those that were exploited against. I am aware that they fixed the bug. This game is being exploited every direction you look, there will be more. No one gets punished for exploiting like they are supposed to.

I appreciate them fixing the bug, but they’ve done nothing to remedy the impact of the bug.

We are closely monitoring community activity and will take action, up to and including permanent bans, against players who break the code of conduct.

This is an actual tweet posted on October 21 on their official twitter and I would expect them to keep their word on protecting communities.

How do you know they’re not being punished? do you have an “excel” sheet with each persons name on it that you have exploited? Have you never played a new mmo? Exploits/bugs happen, you crying about it in posts will make no difference. Especially you crying about stuff that is already being taken care of. They’re actively fixing them as they come out and are doing what EVERY developer does, they’re still human. Keep reporting, keep making new posts and keep playing. The game will balance out like they always have. You’re expecting perfection from a game created by humans, stop treating them like robots because they work for amazon and start treating them like humans who are doing their job.

Treating them like robots? I’m simply asking them to do what they said they are going to do.

I absolutely get that bugs will happen, it’s a new game, it happens. But when the bug exploits affect other players it is absolutely not out of line to ask for them to act on them in the manner that they said they will act on them.

And yes, it’s easy to check if the exploiters are in the game, all you have to do is hit the ‘O’ button and type in their name, if they’re online, they’re still in the game. I also know that they didn’t reverse the results of the wars in which they cheated, that’s easier to check.

Commenting here is the best course of action that we have. I’m not going to keep making new tickets because this isn’t a new bug. It’s related to this bug so I’m keeping it here. All I want is an answer as to if they are going to do anything to remedy the effects of their bug, that hardly seems excessive. According to the EULA and their own statements, they will ban people who exploit. I personally don’t want people like that on my server, maybe you don’t care, idk. But I hardly see the point of playing a competitive PVP game if cheaters and exploiters don’t get removed.

I dont think this was taken seriously by Amazon. We all spent time and money on the territory. It got taken from us with bug usage and looks like they dont care.
Guess i will just start using every kind of bug/exploit available as there is no punishment on doing so and looks like its the only way to be even with the other players.
Gonna attack some territories using the Hatchet bug…

It’s really upsetting, but what else can you do? The idea is to go take back the territories, and you basically have to assume they are going to exploit to defend it like they exploited to attack it. So then you have to exploit if you want any chance, then they make a post just like this one complaining about hatchet exploits and resilience gear etc. being used to take their city. PVP has devolved into a joke.

Which is why the problem isn’t that there’s bugs, the problem is AGS’s complete apathy when it comes to punishing exploiters.

I made a webticket, and the response was to make a webticket.

What in the hell AGS? I made another, I’m not stopping until you punish these players or ban me.

As someone who has worked in the game development industry for the better part of a decade and managed mostly MMORPGs from a network support standpoint I know they need days off, so thank you for the reminder. :+1:

I am not entitled to ask the community management team what the official response will be to utilizing exploits. Nor am I entitled for know there should be one. If you bothered to not be on a campaign to “call me out” you would see that MY solution is to record my interactions, wait for an official response as to what to do with this information then move forward accordingly.

By no means am I implying that anyone should have to work more than 40 hours a week but at the launch of a AAA MMORPG you would have to know that you are being naïve if you think there is no crunch. 50 - 70 hour work weeks are common place, no matter what unicorn fantasyland you think this is.

Look at my post history, read and understand my tone in all of them. I am providing information, useful data and asking very straight forward non-assuming questions BECAUSE of my experience in this industry. So please, do me the favor and consider that you may not be the only “subject matter expert” on the internet.

This information was all I was looking for. Thank you for circulating it @Gelato, assuming this response is relevant to more than the gold duping exports this is good news!

Do you have ANY proof that they aren’t? They don’t have a simple list of, today we’re going to be working on bugs, they have constant coding and maintenance and other projects they’re working on. Stop making this such a simple task, this is a complex being with millions of lines of code that have to be constantly changed. It isn’t as simple as “ctrl + F” “Crouch + life staff” they have to find out EVERYTHING that is interacting with that interaction and understand why. They may have to look at someone else’s code work and understand what THEY did, it’s like getting a paper from an introvert and one from an extrovert, they’re both going to be well written, but from different view points. They can’t just immediately see what the issue is and solve it, they have to sometimes spend hours looking at and understanding it. Stop treating this like it’s a simple solution

The bugs aren’t the issue, it’s your impatience with it not going fast enough, if it’s that much of an issue, learn to code, apply for the job and take over it yourself.

Finding exploiters is “easy”, but solving them is not. For example say that i exploit something, now i have 1000 Asmodeum Ingot, i immediately spread these across accounts and have them selling them for 100 gold each. they sell immediately because people are ecstatic to get them out. so lets say i spread them across 10 accounts (100 bars each) and those 10 accounts sell them to 10 people (100 bars each), that’s 21 accounts being messed with, what’s the solution? Do i as a developer delete those 1000 bars that could have been used to make any number of items? do those items get deleted? do i delete the other material also? or do i break down that and give them the items EXCEPT those bars back? and how about that gold? do i give that gold BACK to the original owners? and what if that gold was used to buy stuff? do i delete those items from the people that the duplicator bought them from? Do you kind of get where i’m going with this? unless it was IMMEDIATELY caught and IMMEDIATELY dealt with that gold could have a LONG list of places it’s been and done with and people like you who would have bought that ingot thinking it was a great deal would be FUCKED when the devs take your items you made. So stop acting like it’s as simple as “checking if the exploiters are in the game” it’s not that easy.

Commenting here with ACTUAL solutions sure, but you’re just complaining about things you don’t have a full understanding of, because a developer doesn’t have the time to write a wall of text to explain ALL that they have to do, that’s not even including if they’re under a NDA and can’t say certain things in that wall of text that might get them fired. Yes, NDA’s still exist i’m under one with my internship company and had to have a PAPER asking about how my internship went going through the VP of the company to get reviewed. This is a paper that was literally just asking how my internship was, and it has to be reviewed by the VP of that company to make sure i don’t break NDA, i completed my internship at the end of summer and it’s almost November and i still haven’t been given approval on it. that’s for 6 pages of “this job was awesome, i learned lots, i applied my degree in this way”

tldr: just read it (second paragraph most important)

You’re welcome

Did they not give an official response? actually asking, i took the thing i quoted as an official response. I’m not really following your “know there should be one”, again didn’t they give an official response? As a developer you should have directly understood my “call you out” stance, they owe you nothing to more than we’re looking into it and to be patient. If you want to go further then that, that’s on you. I feel like someone who has been in this role before should understand how many channels these things will go through and how things get lost in translation (transfer issue being an example)

oh i definitely expect their to be 50-70 hour work weeks, that’s very normal, but i also there to be an understanding from the community that they are not robots and you will not treat them as such. If they decide to work only 50 hours you will say i understand and encourage them in a supportive manner to get their work done after a good rest. You will not hound them, you will not degrade them and you will not expect them to do something you would not do yourself. If you were in their shoes, you’d want to go into a work place with a community behind you, not against you.

I don’t care about your post history, i’m reading your tone from these messages that we’re having an conversation about now. Tone changes, i can wake up well rested and ready to tackle the world or i can wake up dead tired and ready to fight anything that breathes, both are me, tone is not static it’s fluid and will change by the minute.

Your experience on the matter should give you more insight on how your treatment is unacceptable and your tone needs to be more understanding. I don’t care about your experience it means nothing to me, because even the most experienced person can always learn something new.

I looked, this is in reference to Companies being Toxic and the playerbase not being inclusive. Seems AGS cares more about harassment than exploits.

Sarcasm appears lost on you if we want to reference tonality.

No official response or blanket response as to how exploiters will be handled and by which means to catalog evidence has been provided to the community at all. There have been specific instances of the team telling us the response to dupers will be but nothing else. You continue to thread hijack and berate people for wanting information and are beginning to come across like a white knight. You assume people have a sense of entitlement when they do have a right to a response as promised by the community management.

We continue to record and report bugs on behalf of our desire to see a better game and you come into BUG threads and start telling people they are entitled for asking about an official response? The gameplay experience is deeply effected by some of the bugs we are reporting but you find this a place to showboat your social-corrective skills? You continue to assume my motivations for asking you to check your behavior and not assume that we are all here to badger or harass when you yourself now appear as though you want to badger and harass us? Take a word from your own posting…

I would like to continue to work with AGS to better a game I have watched develop for years. To offer my experience and insight to the community in a non-diminishing way and not assume that because someone purchased a product with a base expectation of functionality that they are somehow harassing the developer when that expectation is not met.

You have somehow ventured into this forum with the intention of diminishing the very basis of community management: Ask question/Report Bug → Receive confirmation or official response. There is nothing entitled about bugs and exploits that deeply effect game mechanics or player experiences needing a response. Customer service 101.

You have chosen to not only acknowledge my experience as something that should further entitle YOU to “check” my tone but in the same paragraph completely dismiss it because my experience doesn’t serve your narrative. This is fine by me, any further response you might have is moot as I have already opted to block you. You are a hypocrite, thread hijacker and obviously have no merit to the claims you make in this thread by showing us you only want the community to look bad and the developer cannot falter.

Self evaluate and think before you type.

:+1:

Day 4 of AGS not giving a response. Ban the exploiters. Fix your shit AGS.

Actually the harpoons as you like to call them were changed out right before the beginning of the war. Only 3 were left for anti-siege. Anything else?

Imagine being able to use two trains of thought in one paragraph and struggling to separate the two. The first one was directly to you and how it directly affects you as you’ve been in that position, supposedly. The second one directly tied to me and how your experience in your, supposed, field of expertise doesn’t change my view point of the situation. Don’t follow a leader who’s shown no signs of leading. You’ve proven nothing to me that your “expertise” is worth anything. Nothing you’ve said has changed my viewpoint besides you saying they didn’t give an official response, even though they did. They’ve been working on it, but you’re still stuck in an instant gratification loop that you expect things to be fixed immediately even though you say you’ve been a dev before. Makes me wonder if you actually were, or maybe it was a small project.
