Current Extreme Lag (High input latency)

It also gets worse when entering a town esp. Everfall with a lot of players. The game also needs very long to load character models which means the body part (probably the armor) is missing.

please read my posts above and confirm if you have the ghost connections to US-WEST or some other amazon server outside of your region

I just checked and for some reason for me it shows connections from the SA server, which i`m connected to, it also shows US-WEST connection and EU-WEST aswell.

The game is not even using an EU server anymore, Global accelerator is US-based. How can we force client to connect to and and remain on our specific EU-based worldset server ? Is there any specific conditions or circumstances that would result in the client attempting to connect to alternate servers / regions ?

Please help

Hi again @loomy69!

I hope you are doing well!

I acknowledge the valuable information you have provided once again, but I have a question did any of the people you interviewed from your company, at least one, have a connection to an EU server? If at least one person had it would be nice to know. Also I’ll be passing on the information to the team. Sorry for the delay too.

As always if you have any more clues or information please let me know! Take care.

Hi @lucas.dobscha!

I hope you are doing well!

I understand the issue and suffering from lag is not the best specially in games like New World where you need to react fast. This is not something that I would like for you to be going through, hopefully I can try to fix it.

It looks like the Live Customer Service agent did some troubleshooting with you, but eventually raised a ticket, may I know, did you get an email after 2 - 3 business days with more troubleshooting and also may I know the troubleshooting that you tried with the agent as there may be more and if so I can give it to you and work it out possibly.

Finally the lag/latency issue is being tracked here, High Latency & Stuttering Issues , I know it’s a little bit of a hustle but if you can go there and provide your information it would be awesome, this is just to give more visibility to the team.

Take care and looking forward to your reply!

Actually the customer service agent didn’t do a single troubeshooting with me… I talked back and forth with a couple of agents, as it seems that everytime i send a new mail a new agent answers me, so i basically talked about the problem with the maximum of details I could, then i got an answer asking for many logs… dxdiag, speedtest logs, game logs, crash logs and I gave them ALL… couple of screenshots, .txt doccuments, logs from the game, from windows etc… They asked for 3 days so I waited, nothing happened after 4 days so I sent a new mail and to my surprise they asked me again for the same information… They said that the team needs these informations from me. I said i had literally just sent them 4 days prior to that, but sent everything again… And this happened for 2 more times… They literally kept saying the same thing, asking for the same informations I had sent them. I’m feeling like i’m wasting my time.
Think it’s time to jump on a new game.

Hi @lucas.dobscha!

Thanks for the quick reply!

I apologize for the situation that happened, I understand you 100% and I will try to help you out with this. First of all, before giving you some troubleshooting, may I know your in-game character name?

Also here is some troubleshooting that might be able to help you out with the lag:

Try to turn off your computer’s IPv6, here are the steps:

  • From the Start/Windows Menu, select Settings.
  • Select Network and Internet.
  • In the Status section, under Change your network settings, select Change adapter options.
  • When the Network Connections window opens, right-click your network connection.
  • Select Properties. Scroll to Internet Protocol version 6.
  • Uncheck the Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) box.
  • Select OK to save your changes for the selected network adapter. Try launching the game again.
  • Restart your pc afterwards.

If that doesn’t work please try the steps on this link, Troubleshooting Lag and Connectivity Issues - Support | Amazon Games

Hopefully this helps and if not please let me know. Take care, see you soon.

I dont think it’s “point of view” so much as it is an issue with your servers.

This isn’t the only player who’s having this issue though you throw it off as though the issue is for sure on the players side. As one responder linked a previous post by you guys because there IS an ongoing issue with lag. That’s a straight up punch in the face if I ever saw one. You came right out and pointed out all of the problems you assumed the player’s system was at fault. Right out of the gate. No… “Thanks… we’ll look into this but in the meantime to make sure you’re not having issues…” You guys are horrible with talking points.

But of course you guys have zero problems. The game is 100% in every way.

Still waiting for that lag spike fix…

What IPv6 have to do with the lag? o.O
The PROBLEM IS YOUR CLIENT (NewWorld.Exe)!
YOUR CLIENT MAKE IPv4 Connections to the moon and SEND alot of data, this will make the CPU on fire…

Hi @Timber!

I hope you are doing well!

I understand your frustration and trust me this lag is not something I want for the community, I’ve been battling lag in other games and it’s painful too, that is why loomy69 has been helping me pointing out possibilities of what the root cause might be and I always thank loomy69 for the efforts, what do I do after that, well I inform the team of what loomy69 found and then if I see a new face in the thread, and that player is having issues, I give the player troubleshooting that might be able to help in certain scenarios.

I don’t think any game is perfect, I think there is always room for improvement. But if you have anymore feedback please let me know as soon as possible.

Take care and have a good one!

Hi @Sixblue!

I hope you are doing well too!

I understand your concerns, the IPv6 troubleshooting is just a standard step the fixes lag in some cases. I understand that connections are sending a lot of packets at certain times and it might lag for you, just in case I will send the standard troubleshooting for you to try, here it is, Lag Troubleshooting.

Take care and hopefully I answered your question. :+1:

oh @Hunden the problem is on your side… 100%, this things you send dont help… but better then nothing lol

This evening it was very bad so I turned off IPv6 for my WLAN adapter in the Win 10 setting. After reconnecting to WLAN I hadn’t had a single latency spike for nearly an hour. I will test more tomorrow :crossed_fingers:

Hello @MiraSquirrel

I hope that you are doing well! :grinning:

I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing latency spikes as well, thank you for letting us know that the IPV6 troubleshooting in your WLAN adapter helped you fix these spikes, if after testing more tomorrow you still experience this issue please let us know.

Take care and have a good one!

Hi @MiraSquirrel!

I hope you are doing well too.

Just as @Donxul said thanks for letting us know, lag can be a pain most of the time and I have suffered from it too, if by any chance the lag continues please let me know as soon as possible.

Cya in Aeternum! :ghost:

Hi @Hunden

Thanks for your responses. Another thing i should mention, the game quite often opens up GameCrashUploader.exe (its a binary file inside newworld game folder) and it appears under Newworld.exe in task manager. It happens maybe every 2 minutes, I have even tried to rename this exe, but somehow it installs a new one by itself. (or perhaps it was restored in 1.2.2 patch)

Could these ghost connections be that very thing, uploading of telemetry data (even though i have this disabled in the games settings). The game runs fine and has never crashed, so not sure why the crashuploader is even sending.

Occasionaly during a play session, there is an issue that causes my list of Titles, and Achievement data to show an error when going to those screens, (so i cannot see titles and achievements until i restart the client - could this be what teh crash uploader is responding to ?)

Just wanted to point that out,

Thanks

This issue is driving many of us to wit’s end (putting it lightly), but appreciate the feedback, it definately soothing to some extent

@Hunden

One more thing to add, this “global accelerator” connection that opens up during lag. Could this perhaps be a feature of AWS themselves ? Just thinking out loud here, but what if AWS makes the decision to re-route our default connection to our default server, and because the ping seems lower to the US (for AWS) it decides to rerroute our EU connection through the US.

Another possibility is that there is some kind of telemetry data being gathered and sent during the times we lag. (If this is the case, then can DEVS make it so that the data is sent to an EU server instead - not US WEST).

it definitely has something to do with the Global Accelerator or should i better call it Decelerator.

When playing on my SA-East server i get connected to aa12849c65d17bf14.awsglobalaccelerator.com and ping to this one

but when playing on US-East server i get a connection to
a7272c3369bf5438a.awsglobalaccelerator.com and look how much the ping has dropped
