I just switched to void gauntlet and I’m happy that I can burn down GA players and their heavy armors with my void + light at melee range… void debuffs are INSANE, also it has fortify buffs that stack.
Anyway, 100% agree with you, they messed up with FS and IG.
But I’m just waiting for them to nerf void gauntlet as well, since it’s dealing with GA with ease.
I’m sure that if the head of AGS balance team even play the game (cause seems like they don’t understand their own game), he uses GA WH.
Cause look at this shit… almost 6k…
Edit: bro, been looking at your print, I don’t think it was a GA that hit you for 5.8k, it was a bow.
The Guy was a Guildfriend and we talked after that hit. I try to make Videos without recording my Background Audio and than its better to explain and proof.
The mage community seems to be dedicated to that play style and are not interested in great axe and hammer. Meanwhile the great axe hammer crowd seems equally dedicated to their choices. We should ban together to make sure mages are buffed and great axe isn’t nerfed to fire staff levels of suck. We should stop telling each other why we are wrong and start telling AGS we need the game fixed and for balance to be fair. Not nerf everyone but just make small changes and go slowly. Buff more than nerf. But nerf mobs staggering you! Lol I think if we focus on AGS and not that time you got owned by whoever we will have more success.
Since I’m not a mage player and I haven’t seen you specifically play, I can’t say one way or the other if they are over-nerfed. Though, I’m still seeing the mages I play with absolutely slap people. They may just be good at the game but who knows.
Anyway, the mage weapons were dominating the game. Everyone was rocking IG, FS and/or LS. Definitely the pre-patch meta. As with any game, the meta is going to change. It always does. Something I try to keep in mind before spending too much time on one thing.
Good news is you now have a reason to grind for something new and when mage gets back into the meta you’ll already have a super strong build for it!
You can’t talk about “meta” when there are only 2 weapons to choose from as a Mage that make sense for a Classic Mage and both weapons have been bugs since the beta. Even after the fix they are still bug. I also played other like healers but I don’t like Braindead Greataxe/Hammer , Musket hiding at Map End, or any other Weapon and that goes for many. There are X other examples from games how a Mage should look like, but you think that New World has never watched or played a game. Even back in Crucible, similar “Mage” classes were better thought out than in this game.
LOL. No, They’re not.
When you compare the Fire Staff to everything else avalible, you’re retarded if you stick with Fire Staff. If you killed someone with Fire Staff, you would have killed him easier with anything else.
Look I played a few dozen OPR’s and 2 of them FIre Staff didn’t appear to be that terrible, but we also 3 capped one of those. When the players your against are terrible, every build feels viable. When you get decent players, you’ll see how your weapon stands up… If EVERY build can just turn on you and kill you every time, and they have no fear of you killing them… your screwed… With food/potions it’s hard for a fire staff to kill anyone. The Max damage on a pillar is like 1700 now. Thats a really hard skill to hit, and the range on it is LOW, I’ve gotta get into range of a axe to use it. Fireball is good, but its easy to dodge, its slow moving and you can I-Frame it 100% of the time if you know what your doing. So I’ve got to kill them with Heavy Attacks… Which I have 0 Focus and a life staff hits just as hard as my Fire Staff.
Citation Requires… Because unless someone has 5k HPS… Nobody got 1 shotted. The highest dmg ability was Pillar of FIre if it Double Hit… Which means you stood there and ate it.
My war 2 days ago, POF dmg in medium(Honestly hand picked, I do not hit this type of dmg consistently)
Some perks are now better than others, you gotta adapt.
But yes overall Firestaff nerf was way to hard.
Well, Clearly you can hit for a LOT more with 30% Rend on them, but that wasn’t the question.
Is that a Baron buff too? & Battle Bread… Man, you went all out to try and make that work…
So without those your hitting for about 3k. Maybe 3500 with the Baron buff, and Battle bread, but without the Rend, because that’s 2 abilities not 1.
just int//con food and honing stone, didnt know you can bring battlebread to war…
I dont see this type of #'s consistently obviously.
It might of been them being rended and light armor?
Well, the Rend is the biggest bonus, thats roughly 1500 dmg, maybe 1400… It’s beyond me to do the percentages backwards… but 30% of 4800… which isn’t perfectly accurate but its somewhere in the ballpark…
However, to my point… Fire isn’t 1 shotting anyone.
I wasn’t paying attention, but there’s 3 buffs on you, and Rend on them… When I was talking numbers I wasn’t tweaking it to the max with Food/Consumables ect…
