Daggers: Ability Ideas

Weapon Gimmick: Death Mark
Light and Heavy attacks applies a Death Mark (Stacks 5x lasting for 10 seconds).

Idea: So my idea for the daggers was to have it’s abilities work with Light and Heavy attacks. I wanted it to feel weak to those that do not have the patience to set up the abilities. This makes dagger playstyle hungry for light/heavy attacks to make their abilities feel strong and weak for those who only spam abilities. I’m looking at you brain-dead bruiser builds!

Terror Tree (Burst Damage)

Ability 1: Veiled Strike(15s Cooldown)
Description: Dash forward for 6 meters in a 1 meter radius striking everyone in your path for 50% weapon damage. After 3 seconds, Death Mark Stacks are consumed dealing (100/120/130/140/150)% damage.

Idea: I wanted this ability to be as weeb as it sounds. It should look like those classic anime tropes where the guy would dash and have the opponent get cut up behind them. The initial dash should do a little damage. The bulk of the damage will come from the Death Mark consumption.

Ability 2: Weak Point(10s Cooldown)
Description: Launch a quick stab that deals 120% weapon damage. Penetrates through (20/25/30/35/40)% of your target’s armor per Death Mark Stack.

Idea: This one just makes sense to me. No armor penetration if there are no death marks.

Ability 3: Flashbang(20s Cooldown)
Description: Perform a backflip and retreat 6meters backwards leaving behind a Flashbang that detonates after .5 seconds in a 2 meter radius. Flashbang removes 50% of your enemies stamina and increases by 10% per Death Mark Stack.

Idea: Ninja style! Drop a bomb that confuses your enemy. This is gonna be a strong ability so I added a backflip, and kept the radius small. If they have 5 stacks of Death Mark, their stamina is gone. No more dodging! Long cooldown cause it’s strong.

Strife Tree (Utility)

Ability 1: Phantasm(10s Cooldown)
Description: Surround yourself in a cloak of daggers for 6 seconds damaging enemies around you for 10% weapon damage. Damage increases to (20, 25, 30, 35, 40)% weapon damage per Death Mark Stack.

Idea: Visible ring of blades spawn around you. Anyone who goes near you will get damaged for a small amount. Maybe the ability perk can be called “Fortifying Phantasm” that grants fortify when the ability is activated.

Ability 2: Brutalize(12s Cooldown)
Description: Deliver two consecutive strikes that adds 3 second per hit to your Death Mark stacks.

First Hit: 100% weapon damage
Second Hit: 120% weapon damage

Idea: This one is for the people that might be thinking it’s hard to keep up with the Death Mark stacks. First hit should be quick, second hit should be highly telegraphed and fairly easy to dodge.

Ability 3: Flying Blade(15s Cooldown)
Description: Leap up into the air throwing 3 blades in a narrow fan in front of you for 8 meters dealing 80% weapon damage. Adds 1s to the Death Mark Stack.

Idea: Cool kunai throw. Was thinking maybe they could add a perk that adds an explosion on hit that staggers the enemy.

Edit: Forgot to add, these numbers and percentages literally mean nothing. At the end of the day, devs will balance the abilities as they want.
