@MixedNuts I keep hearing rumors of a thread where Empower was tested and has a softcap at 50%, but still increases damage after that at a lower rate. Was this you by any chance, otherwise have to tested it? I cannot find the original thread people keep refering to.
I tested it.
False.
Whether I had 55% or 75% empower I did the exact same damage.
This was before the skill perk weapons patch so unless they changed it recently then it is false.
Nah that’s not a thing. The only time Empower went past cap was when they broke it a few months ago with typos.
Doing some more work on optimizations, getting it faster and faster now.
Still working on implementing everything correctly, so if you see a bug or the sheet breaks for you let me know. I’ve been spending full days no sleep working on it so I’m a bit tired out.
make sure you rest and take care of yourself yo!
OK, I think I got through everything major I wanted to. I have some minor things left to fix/add ie Weapon Perk stacks, but it should be pretty unbroken and accurate now. Next big project will be the PvE AI Damage to Player.
Added PvE bosses, so now you can see how much damage you’ll take
Great tool. The Arboreal gem is not scaling with focus stat.
Fixed! ty!
Added DPS column, special thanks to @X-R and @kuratius again, tons of manual work went into this, so I appreciate your help <3
Keep in mind, this isn’t end all, DPS itself doesn’t tell you everything. Also these are all via video frametimes, so some data gathering errors might be possible. We will continue to improve where we can, hopefully soon understand the Animation files to get exact timings and possibly start sim building.
Would you consider it as “ok” for me to integrate usage of those formulas in update of skill builder for New World Guide?
I’m not Mixed, but here’s some additional info you might want to know:
Depending on which parts you’re talking about, that’s a lot of work.
There is a lot of logic in the background of the calc that deals with perks and loading data directly from datamines, damage types, etc
There is a tentative plan to port to JavaScript in collaboration with nwdb, so this might result in duplicated effort. I would recommend using an open source license of some kind or explicitly collaborating to avoid duplicated effort.
If you just want to do skills and attribute scaling+attribute perks, that’s more doable (maybe also skill perks, but I think there’s still some in-game bugs and general weirdness/spaghetti code with regard to how crit interacts with skills and skill perks)
Well, have you seen everything what was done on nw.guide?
We had not such a great community like nwdb and we had to investigate everything on our own. Our community did a great job regarding different broken UI elements, but we had just 3 players who discussed with us in Discord the nuances of extracting data from the game during the course of the year.
And at the same time, we had some weird situations in communications with Xyo I would prefer to keep it between us.
And after being away since March there are almost no new functionality/big improvements on the nwdb side. That’s actually very sad because it was so fun to compete in terms of functionality during the first month after launch and we had as healthy communications with Xyo as two competing websites ever able to have in theory!
To be honest, I would be happy to avoid duplicated effort, but I’m banned and kicked from nwdb discord
But, to be fair, the same thing about Xyo in NWG discord
So the only way to have efforts de-duplicated at this stage is to work with some of interested players as intermediaries between both sites
If you need a quick refresher on some basics, some of the findings from people on the nwdb discord were added to the nw fandom wiki more than half a year ago, though unlike the calc nothing is actually attributed (probably doesn’t matter b/c you can read the wiki edit history, but just for reference this is the original source for the info). A lot of it was first added to the calc and then later on Carpet Merchant got motivated and roped a few people into adding stuff to the wiki.
This should be enough to get you the basics, and maybe that’ll awaken Xyo’s competitive spirit.
I have everything open for everyone to see/use, so I don’t mind, but like @kuratius has said, I have been working with @xyo for the port already since I have a great relationship with him and has been open with me. If you have a vision go for it, I just try to support the community by clearing up misconceptions/misinformation about how things work, hence why I have everything open ![]()
Another pass of random bugs
Added Mutator Status Effects to both Damage Calc and Bosses sheet
Hey man, this is AMAZING and I appreciate the hard work. Is it possible for me to showcase this tool in video? I’d of course credit you and include a link in the description if you’d like.
Thanks again and excited to keep playing with this!
