If we play games about it we can say the FFXIV developers don’t know about it.
I’m pretty sure they frequent reddit and know about it and can also find out if users are using them.
I guess we can say it’s used but not approved
I’m sure you would show them that they’re a deadweight in a non-toxic way
no this game is all about slapping wood and rocks. oh and chasing that HWM. GTFO with those meters and fanciful graphs, they have no place here.
if you put dmg meter in the game … the community get so hardcore toxyc … don’t put it in
Yes, better get stuck with bad players forever and have no feedback from game what is wrong. That will sure be OK.
That is currently creating more toxicity than DPS meter ever will.
Most game I played had option to show DMG/Threat/Tanked DMG meter or at least end game stats. It can be hidden or showed on button to not spam gui, but it exists.
Right now you have no feedback on what is wrong, who plays bad and what is problem. And with upcoming patch in more difficult expedition it will create a huge hate.
with the new dgs, i think it would be a great way to be able to see where the group is needing to invest more. I understand how toxic this can be, but among friends, this is amazing.
Yes pleas.
Always want to know how I can improve. Also want to know how my group can improve.
Right no we have no idea what the hell we’re doing without hitting a dummy and doing some maths. That’s no representation of real world performance though.
I agree if this is for the player only and not visible for all.
This can be a great tool for a player to improve on, or it can be a terrible system to gate out player who dont do x amount of dmg or heal.
You are weird. Such a meter is not onscreen all the time. It can be visible when clicked in the area or hidden at any time!
You certainly played only one game in your life?
Silkroad, Revelation Online, BDO they all have such a stuff included and it’s not destroying UI/UX cause it’s configurable.
You don’t need a DPS/threat meter to know how you are performing in the game.
I’ve seen to many persons watching those things better then the game they were supposed to be playing, ignore game mechanics etc just to pad their e-peen on the meter.
Those meters have never shown to be an asset in any game to improve any player. The basis combat log in WoW even gave you more than enough information about what happened to you in any fight. And most of the time, knowing your DPS vs other players is not how you improve in the game. It’s avoiding potential deaths that are thrown at you via all kinds of game mechanics.
TL/DR: Don’t die in fights is how you improve. You master that, you mastered the game. On to the next difficulty level.
Damage meter? Thread meter? How about the really important stuff? Where is my BÄM addon? ^^
would love one but all these casuals crying wouldnt allow it
This would be great. More information is always a plus.
Not wanting information or not wanting to know how you’re doing seems to me like willful ignorance.
Go play WoW
I would love a dps meter because it helps me to improve myself as a player to see what I am lacking at; coming from a competitive side. But this would hurt the community because casuals would get flamed for not doing enough.
absolutely not. The amount of toxicity and drama these things cause is insane.
You can get better at the game by learning more about your weapons, builds, gear, etc. and fine tuning what you wear and use, as well as just getting better at your rotation. The game already has a bunch of stats you can use to calculate what your potential numbers can be. If you feel you are lacking you are probably lacking and if you want to improve there are ways to go about it. You don’t NEED some weird number bar telling you these things.
No, no need why make it more toxic…
Man you contradict yourself in your own answer xD
DPS meter is the only reasonable method of DPS output. By not having it you are limiting your option in veryfing almost every DPS wise stats.
Yes I see you veryfing whether fire bow deals more on genesis than normal bow with opal stone and dodges. Good luck.
And there are hundreds combinations to check and with new expeditions there will be even more.
Also not everyone plays every weapon so how can I know whether hammer deals a lot DMG or not?
You are forcing me to lvl weapon to 20 just to say, hey it’s not really that high for lazarus? When I check what others are doing.
By the way not including meter is causing toxicity as currently many randoms have problems with finding a party as people are scared of going with randoms and have no method to test them. So a lot of randoms must pay a lot for tutorial runs, as no one is willing to take them.
I’ve done lazarus and genesis more than 100 times, even today I did genesis 10 times and I was picking teammates simply by reputation - I only pick people I know since I cannot test them anyway.
Many other games include DPS meter in towns (puppet) and that DPS can be easly checked and no problems occur.
As I said before goodluck finding a party for mutated lazarus or genesis . Oh nvm, you’ll find it as a cow to be milked (if you have key).
I always take people with key for free, because you know if someone pay and he is DPS he can even be 400 GS, we’ll force through somehow.
My last MMORPG Revelation Online had DMG meter that was visible on button, and normally hidden. This was not causing any toxicity. Was just a normal method on veryfying whether someone can make DPS or don’t.
Raw data is everything.
i also would like to have a damage meter. you also could make it so that the player can decide if he shows the damage he has done to the group or keep it for himself.
We are a group of 5 who are grinding the mutations verry hard. we would love to improve more and a damage meter would help our group to do so. an each player would have a feedback if the skills he is playing are working like intended or not
