Hey there AGS. Please add native controller support. Steam layouts are ok and all but none quite get it right. Would love an option to make it native in game so if I decide to start playing on a steam deck or if I just want to use my controller to play (my preferred method), I don’t have to still use keyboard and mouse for certain actions. ESO implemented it years ago and it works wonderfully. This would be a great addition to all the fixes you’ve been doing. Pretty please, with a cherry on top.

i totally agree with u … thats my perferred as well. thats what keeps me from playing alot of the time. im new to pc and its difficult to learn to play with keyboard&mouse. we definitely need controller support.they should want this too so it doesnt keep other people from playing this game . i guess we can try writing to them on twitter as well.

I’ve used controller since day one - I made my own keybinding (XB1 controller) to be ergonomic with how I play
Although, it is harder to aim musket/bow with controller since there is no native tracking as with games that have controller support. I generally stick with melee so it doesn’t effect me much.
You can set multiple keybinds on the same button based on how you press it. For example;
- press R Bumper for [R] Ability
- hold R Bumper for 1 second to trigger [F] Ability
- Press left joystick to weapon swap
- Hold left joystick to sheathe weapon
You can also do overlays.
- I hold Options button to set “Fishing” overlay
- This pulls out fishing rod and changes my layout
I’m probably going to do a music overlay too
