well my big question is this game MUST DIE : 1: to be reborn! or
2: Die and just be a history in mmo timeline
Evidence and outline the largest contribution factors behind the death of NEW WOLRD
AGS lacked proper MMO exp and developers
Content desing/ offering has no longevity and is not competitive.
Offers nothing innovative nor other otherworldly worthy of the Amazon name
Hobble too ealry to launch.
Displayed a severe lack of market and competitor research
Sheer scale of the failure, etc etcā¦( from geologie_Nerdslayer)
I think 98% of itās playerbase being gone is already a big enough wake up call and slap in the face. Theyāre still hiring new developers and they changed lead game designer.
This game can only die completely or the playerbase stays committed and it slowly metabolizes into an amazing game that I personally think they can do.
I donāt think there is a reborn chance. Theyāve dropped the ball so many times that if it tried to do a FFXIV(?) Rebirth nobody would come back imo. People are only here for the potential. A rebirth would shake the foundation of hope.
I think we should stay hopeful and let them do their job.

More Devās

They have and are acquiring the pieces required to turn it around. Hang in there.
People always bring FF14 and ESO as examples of reworks that worked out in the end. What has to be emphasized is that the well-established gaming companies behind those games had IPs to save.
FF14 is apart of a series thatās 35 years old. And ESO is apart of a series thatās 28 years old.
New world is 7 months old for fucks sake.
AGS deserves some credit regardless. Unlike Crucible where they tried & gave up scrapping the project. Theyāve pushing on ahead little by little. Over time this mmorpg will get far better than the cluster fuck that it has in its current infant stage.
It does not have a franchise fanbase, but it does have a pretty huge fanbase that belives in the potential of this game. In my experience that is what most people mention about New World when they talk about the game⦠itās potential.
It is true though. The game has huge potential, however to live up to that potential I believe it needs a lot of changes and improvements, also to the core of the game. Which is no easy task to do while simultaneously maintaining a live version of the game.
I think that a rebirth of New World is 100% possible⦠and perhaps the best (and only?) solution after all.
Itās suicide for New World to try a realm reborn. Just because it worked on some games doesnāt mean all games will have the same outcome. Itās better that AGS improves little by little.
And honestly that YTber in particular says āDeath of a gameā about a couple different games that arenāt even dead. Especially HOTS since I still find matches practically every day. That Channel I usually skip.
A number of MMOs had a rough first year and then turned it around. Think ESO and Albion Online are 2 recent examples.
New World should be able to turn it around. The world, look and feel are all top notch. Number of other aspects are very good.
To me the main issues that I havenāt seen enough headway relate to combat, especially in PvP. Still so much desynch and other issues. And havenāt seen any indications that they have any clue on how to properly balance while keeping combat interesting, depth/tactics. PvE suffers as well but obviously to a lesser extent. After this area end-game balance is a big one.
Just focusing on expeditions is a short-term āfixā to keep some players playing, but long-term they still have a lot of work to do.
ESO had a number of mechanics issues but they got most fixed and so their quest/story base then flourished, along with other PvE areas. They never really got RvR/PvP to work as theyād like but it is mainly a PvE game so that didnāt matter as much. Albion Online just needed to balance things and add a little more for their open world PvP and what not. They did and it took off for a few years. It is a simpler MMO being 2 and 1/2 D so it has faded but their devs understood end-game balance, risk v reward, etcā¦
IMO, NW will not really ever recover. It will go on for a few years, mainly as a PvE game, then fold. This is because I donāt think their engine, or their ability to modify/use it, is up to the task. Thus they canāt really ever have a ācomplete gameā.
They cannot turn this trainwreck around. Itās impossible. The game has a bad reputation, AGS has a bad reputation, the basis of the game is bad. You cannot turn all these bads into goods.
hey now atleast one of the orginal dev team had exp on mmorpgs, sure the rest didnt, atleast they worked on games. Sure not mmmorpgs but games and the project lead had never worked on a game before and has now quit for family time. Wait was i trying to inspire you now atleast it makes sense right lol
The game can carry on. Only thing that need to be changed for this to happen is fire the one behind decisions. I donāt blame devs. Coding is the same thing to a game as to a website, the only thing different is the decision of what is shown to the public.
Who cares what cars you have driven dose that mean you can build one if your not a mechanic your gonna fail and the car will fall apart. Also i played all 3 betas the open beta as well and can tell you the video is pretty spot on. They have been given so much feed back its crazy and choosen to listen to the wrong feedback more often then not.
