If it’s not free, many will wait it out to see if it’s worth it. A significant number of players they might hope to bring back will not purchase an expansion just because.

We will see. But with noise game originaly made and amount of player that left i think with good expantion it wont be hard to make that noise again. But if ppl that it will bing back log in and see same game that made them quit, they will quit again lol.

This is exactly the problem. People like you play to analyze the charts, the team behind and every kind of bs playing to be profesional game testers.
IF, you just play the game the game is amazing and the combination of looks and survival flavor with mmo its just mind blowing but it need help in a lot of aspects NO ONE argues that.
Now, no one wants 10, 20, 30 FFXIV… this is an mmo but we all know its very different. you cant have the same thing over and over.
And lastly yes, you’ll see that every time a renowned streamer/youtuber says either “the game is back” or “death game” people follows and the numbers are the same since a few months. The only people who doesn’t see this is the one that im talking about.
If you just want FFXIV, go for it, people here dont, we want this thing but directed by better people…
It’s like having a nice new car , and you drive it a bit , and it breaks down , and you drop it off with a bunch of carpenters to get it fixed , and then it doesn’t get fixed , and then you realize carpenters don’t fix cars , and you quit …

Disagree on what, he was needed 2 or 3 years ago before they made awful choices and turned this game into what it has become now.
He can have as much experience as possible, it won’t change the fate of this game. By the time his changes would make it to live this game already was shut down.
