We need a PvP server and we need a Carebear server.
The Carebear Server:
1: No cost for fast travel, no restrictions.
2: Auction house is not only the same in all regions but is padded with extra cheap stuff every 10 minutes by the game. High tier ore at 0.01 per, whereas, the horribly overpriced crap YOU put on there is bought by the system within 24 hrs.
3: Instead of a death penalty you’d actually get “death assistance” - that is, a small cash payout and a written note of apology from the monster that murdered you. You can reject the apology with a 10% chance of the monster becoming your slave so your stuff can be fixed for free.
4: Each faction can own an instance of each city. You only see the instances you want to see.
5: Upon farming a node it doesn’t disappear, it is ready to mine again. Up to 10 players can continuously farm the same node - we may up that number if that is too inconvenient for everyone.
6: Mounts - absolutely TONS of mounts you can buy if the first dozen the game gives you aren’t enough. They travel at roughly the speed of light and you look like a FREAKIN’ god/goddess/themess when you’re on your stupid horse.
7: You can walk into any town and say "I’m the Governor " and that instantly makes you the leader of that town. Thanks to the instancing system everyone gets to be the leader.
Let’s get all these people on the same server so the rest of us can play the #@%$! game.

The numbskulls who made those stupid ideas really have no idea what he means. Farming for crafting mats isn’t a carebear thing, PvP’ers do it to. Or do you guys just not gather at all? I have seen a lot of PvP flagged people farming/harvesting, i do it while doing PvP quests my self.
Having a second set of gear on you or even a third set shouldn’t be punished. No one just suddenly sees an Ori vein in a group run and then runs back to storage to go get their gear then to just go back to that spot. No. You keep that mining set on you and swap to mine.
Just stop dying? What a stupid suggestion. Acting like you NEVER die, pfft i doubt that. I bet you guys die a lot too, or do you all just run around in a zerg so you are protected all the time? Never soloing? Never fighting challenging fights? Do you run at the sight of another flagged player or run when you pull 2 mobs at once? What a stupid statement to say.
Or you dedicate your time to farming and not farming runs and store your equipment for not having to repair it.
Or you ignore the farming sets durability until you need them instead of repairing them all the time just to be damaged again on your next death.
Not everyone has that time they can dedicate to a pure run of one said item.
Ori is something you need to grab when you see it. Doing pure runs for Ori on a populated server is a nightmare even when it isn’t peak time. Same goes for any of the T5 gatherable mats.
If you ever tried farming for void ore or other legendary crafting mats you would fully understand how having your gear for mining and even food for it becomes very normal to carry all the time. Certainly since 70% of the ori veins in this game are actually next to, or in high NPC filled areas, meaning you need to kill many targets to reach said ore.
The point is that you should not be punished for wanting to have different builds. Developers noticed this already and lowered the penalties for respecs. As things go paying a few hundred gold is trivial for endgame, not so much for early game peasants.
that’s not a solution to a valid concern. would you really carry backpack of gear into hand to hand combat? no. you drop the backpack to fight. why does it get damaged?
As someone who doesn’t PvP, I do agree on this as well. Damaging all of the gear you have on you, including gear in your bag, doesn’t feel right. I don’t know what the best solution is, but I’m sure it’ll improve.
The few times that I’ve run PvP quests, just to get some tokens for health pots, I end up just leaving all of my gear in storage, and bringing 1 weapon to fight off monsters. That way if someone kills me, I’m not spending a ton to repair.
No, my solution is to stop playing inefficiently and not expect the devs to cater to your “way of playing.” I’m not sure why you think you should be able to run around with five sets of gear and not have to repair them.
You already said there should be “risk” from the start. If there isn’t full loot PvP, then inventory durability has to take the place of that mechanic. Otherwise, everyone is running around with five sets of gear doing everything at once. What they do need to fix is gear that isn’t bound to you taking damage. That way, you can sell it without having to blow gold repairing gear you just picked up.

Ahhh. I see! So the thing that affects you, suiciding to fast travel after you’ve completed a chest farming run, that needs a fix. But the other guys issue, suiciding to fast travel after completing a mining run, that needs to continue to be punished because he’s scum.
The games gathering system is just a poorly designed piece of shit. Its not about not being punished for having 10 sets of armor on you. The issue is you shouldnt HAVE to have 10 sets of armor on you. This shit should all be condensed into a less convoluted system.
Not only do you have to have 10 sets of armor on you as your exploring, but you also have to respec every time you go out to farm a specific material if you want to be efficient. The whole design is a mess and not very well thought out.
Just cap it to 2 weapons, helm, chest, legs, boots, gloves, ring, earring, and necklace being damaged. Or if items are equipped only those. If no items are equipped the last equipped item for each slot.
I am ok with a punishment, just the idea that if you have a full load of armor and weapons you can be looking at 1000 gold repair costs, which is a ludicrous amount. It should be limited to what you equip. And if you equip nothing, charge a resurrection fee.
I never have any gathering armor on me, unless I’m out to explicitly get that type of resource. I throw on a full mining set, go mine ores, and ignore everything not ore. Put that armor away, grab logging armor, go chop trees. etc. Inventory weight is limited, even if durability wasn’t a thing I still wouldn’t carry around multiple armor sets because I want to use that weight for the stuff I’m gathering.
You’re not supposed to do everything. Yes, I know you can, they didn’t do what some mmo’s do and force you to preselect 2 trades and block all others. But you still aren’t supposed to do everything. That’s why its so bloody time intensive to do any one of the trades, thats why their gear buffs are spread out instead of being one generic gathering buff, etc. The intent is for the smith to not also be a leatherworker, but to buy what leather he does need for his smithing, and vice versa. The smith isn’t even supposed to mine all their own ore, they’re supposed to buy a lot of it from a miner who isn’t a smith. Then make that money back selling what they made to other people, including that same miner.
AG did a very bad job getting things to properly work the way they intended, I mean seriously crafting is practically pointless as it is, but its is clear what they intended.
thing is, you bleed gold no matter what… even if you’re not dying. wear and tear and possible death expenses, whether your doing pve like mining, expeditions, missions, and or pvp missions, wars, invasions… and corruptions etc… it sucks.
