Does our current watermark transfer into the new system? Cause if I have to farm this again, I am SO DONE with this.

This new system is only viable after a full wipe or for new players.

You have delivered a package to my house… it’s not the best product but its ok and I’m happy enough.
You then come to my house months later, light my product on fire, and tell me it’s good for me.

So much for sandbox, I had the game on the backburner waiting for server merges but at this point I’m just done with it.
New World is unsalvageable, it’s just marred with incompetence at every level, from QA testers to programmers to developers to project leads.

Exactly this, what they want and feel is right, not what a large majority of people actually playing the game day to day, good luck with your game, i think its time to put it away until you actually start listening to what your player base is telling you.
Ie the fundamentals that is being presented right now is forcing content on people, i now have to do these things to even hope to be competetive or get deleted.
You have literally undermined your crafting system and any gear worth making (which was already tedious to make and is overall a headache) let alone the absolute grind it has been to level trade skills.
Instead of making a system thats enjoyable and the end game content repeatable and meaningful you have just added alot of added time for things people detest doing because its mindless and absolutely boring.
Good luck and best wishes for a game that has unbelivable potential but being driven into the absolute dirt.

Please explain it.
Yes, it was a choice, but it was a valid choice as a progression option. After these changes they plan to lock all items regardless of where they come from behind the Expertise system, which means it is no longer a valid option and we all have to grind expertise.
So they need to account for people playing the game differently and not allow certain people to gain a huge advantage that they did not previously have just because they chose a different path.
Either they bump the expertise (up to 600) based on crafting profession skills, or they have to reset it for all players.
It needs to be fair

Can you give a concrete example of the feedback that led you all to your choices?
Who said in there feedback, “wow thank god I leveled up weapon smithing to 200. I can’t wait to use a crafted legendary weapon or armor for armor smithing that’s 100% useless.”

iv put hundreds of dollars into this game on cosmetics, plus hundreds of hours ingame and that comment you just made right there has made me quit. The team thinks the best option for me is to say LFG in global chat on a dead server and hide in corners in myrkguard to avoid aggro for a few hundred hours?
Maybe just maybe decide to NOT continue with that change.
Give me instant gratification… blah blah blah.
The only way some people will be happy with this game is if they are given an “I WIN” button which grants them max level, the best gear, access to anything at anytime, and uber skills to win in 5vs1 in pvp

If you do not understand that these changes affect all other current end game progression options you are just short sighted. This update needs to be fair for all players.
They do not need to reset, they can convert crafting skills to expertise (up to 600 based on skill) instead.
It should not only be a “reset” for players who chose a different path.

My dude if you cared about fairness you would’ve been advocating for a way for pvp’er to raise their watermarks through pvp’ing. You only care about “fairness” now because it affects you personally and your solution is to bring everyone down with you.
Atm in my companies discord ppl discussing what to do. No point to log in game and do anything. Some totally said they will quit if we have a soft wipe.
