Dec update response

This is what WoW devs have said for 15 years and look where they are now.

Constructive Criticism:

Expertise rank showing - Excellent

More varied ways of gaining Expertise - great (in addition to Gypsum, do these activities
also have chance of gear drops that increase? If not, then the change is not so useful as it would not be worthwhile doing them)

Nerfing chance of gaining expertise but increasing the amount expertise increases - Could be great or awful, depends on how big the nerf.

Expertise capping gear - good theory, terrible in practice. I understand the concept, wearing 600GS makes Expertise system very boring as no upgrades possible till the end. However, this cripples crafting. I would suggest if you HAVE to do some form of capping, crafted gear be exempt, so buying other people’s loot drops are subject to the cap, but crafted items are not.

Item Shards - Great change, not entirely convinced by its implementation, but finally being able to craft with guaranteed stats and 1 perk is a massive improvement.

Chest improvements in dungeons - good. About time, but unfortunately doesn’t make much difference because the Orb system still leaves dungeons an unattractive prospect.

Unbuffing elite mobs - thank god. Casters in particular are so overtuned.

Of everything mentioned, everything seems a big improvement except Expertise cap, and likely the nerf to bosses and chests (though this nerf IF done right, may be acceptable depending on the bigger jumps in expertise they claimed).

still far more players than this game lmao!!!

The issue is that rather than the gypsum will help increase wm faster, it will instead be your set score no matter how high your gear. So, if you slaved and worked hard to get a wm of 560, but your expertise is only 520, you only get the 520 armour score.

I’m not complaining as someone who will get nerfed. I paid maybe 3k for my whole armor, with the hope of eventually finding something better as I go along. I’ve been lvl 60 a week. I will literally get from the start experience. However, those who sincerely worked to get where they are, crafting armour, weaponry, jewelcrafting to 200, doing mg to get the high wm, just found out that they need more grinding to use their stuff as it was originally intended.

I can’t speak for others, but that is where my issue lies. I cheered over the new content, saw the crafting and thought, oh, ways to 600 for armour and weapons. (Or in my case ways to get schematics and recipes) So, truly, the issue is expertise affecting usage of armour and weapons.

Why are you making it a “you” vs “me” battle? The concern is about the big picture. It is feedback based on the Dec update. The feedback is simple. It should be implemented in a way that is fair for ALL players. Not just the ones who have been farmin HWM. If you fail to see the big picture, and to understand the feedback and the concern, then there is no point typing any more.

Yes it does. Do you even play pvp? When I complete outpost rush I get a chest that contains gear that can increase my HWM.

the point was that he agrees with HWM reset, thats not fair like its not fair to lower gear to your current HWM.

I agree with a implementation that makes it fair for all players. It does not have to be a HWM reset.

Expertise should only affect the GS of your drops period, not current gear or gear others got and put up for sale in the AH nor crafted gear.

IF you buy some gear in the Ah and pay a crapton cause it’s gs 600 with good perks for you etc then it should be that when you put it on, regardless of if it was crafted or a drop.

expertise should only be relevant to what drops for you, want higher gs gear drops then for sure do the expertise grind.

Do you? We’ve all seen the video of this dude opening 110 OPR crates starting at 500 wm and ending up at 503-504.

110 opr crates is 80’ish hours of outpost rush.

Feel Unheard is a understatement the devs has literally done the exact opposite of what the community has wanted this whole time and the fact that they even thought that some of these changes were a good idea just shows us once again.

your update is bad and you should feel bad. how’s that for constructive ?

pvp uses both, pvp gives the most direct gold which they previously used to buy gear

I grinded a truckload of faction tokens to get my 520gs armor set and 525gs weapons. The weapons alone were 100k tokens and 4k coins. Will those scale down to whatever my (very low) watermarks are, too?

Not very constructive at all. You should try again, I am sure you can do better.

Also what’s the point of the weapon quests that give you weapons above 500 gs now? The reward is supposed to be a cool pretty good weapon and now it’s not unless you grind something else so why even do the quests at all.

according to the dev post, yes

PREACH, preach it to the heavens!

NOT HYPE,
I’m mad but whatever, this game… lol

To be fair WOW still has over 1 mil players
