Dec update response

I never once stated that I felt they were making changes with the intent to lose players, I simply mentioned what happened when I read the statement that everything was for the good of the games and players as I think Amazon Games is clueless on this which is evident by the quality of game we have right now and all the bad decisions we have seen over the past couple of months.

I did find humor in you posting over a dozen times in this thread suggesting others do not have an understanding of the upcoming changes with statements like this:

Only to read your subsequent confession:

My point is that Amazon Games seems confused on how to go about making changes for what is ‘best for the game and their players’ and this is quite evident by the drastic drop in numbers, a larger drop than what is seen in most games after launch. Keep in mind that there are quite a few players like myself that are simply logging in each day not actively playing that are making those numbers look even better than what they actually are.

While I cannot object to the change with the expertise system, I can certainly object to ‘how’ it could be implemented. As others have already mentioned, the only fair way to roll this new mechanic out (other than a time machine to go back to it being in place at launch) would be to start everyone on the same playing field where all gear is capped at the same value regardless of what that value is 500, 550 ect.

To make yet another nerf (like the crafting xp) that rewards those that rushed endgame by focusing most of their time on crafting or watermarks vs those that played enjoying all aspects of the game seems like another slap in the face.

Amazon Games, stop penalizing the majority of your player base for not rushing endgame content as we are having a hard time staying ahead of your endless nerfs that are consistently rewarding those that focused on fast leveling crafting via easy low level means and those that mindlessly camped the same boss or repeatedly did the same chest runs over and over and over.

To implement a new mechanic where GS reverts to a failed watermark system score rather than what a player took endless hours to gather and craft or via gold they worked hard to earn in game is just another fail decision on your part if it is rolled out this way. Be fair with the new system and do not cap or make the rollout cap the same for everyone.

While this won’t bring any new light to the topic, I feel that I need to state my disappointment in this change, I like the idea of having different ways to reach high GS gear, but now it seems all my effort to craft GS 600 won’t be worth a thing, I choose to ignore going through the HWS grind, and focus on the crafting getting my skills to 200, farming the rare mats, for you to now tell me that I don’t deserve what I made. I hope you rethink about implementing this change and maybe find a different way to make your vision in the game.

lol You guys have not once listened to feedback.

No I’m not though.

Thank you lol… I figured most of these posts were pure speculation posts. I mean sheesh let the ptr launch and test it before we jump into arms.

Honestly giving us more ways to earn HWM is a good thing and the expansion to crafting aptitude and unique patterns seems like a good thing longer term

This all started with you stating “I almost fell off my chair laughing at this statement.” quoting @NW_Mugsy “Our goal is always to do what is best for our players and New World.”.

So, your joke implied they were not working with that goal in mind, which is stupid. You can disagree with the changes, argue they are not being effective to their goal, that they can suck, are unfair, are wrong, whatever. You can even be right in that evaluation. It does not change the fact they are obviously doing whatever changes they are doing with the goal to improve, to do what they think is best for the players and the game.

Implying they are not working in good faith is just wrong and stupid.

Thank you!! Most folks are not going to listen because they have already made up there minds and cant change them even when presented with the evidence. they would feel weak and wrong and not happy that they learned something new.

Right @BerserkZodd ?

Testing this out in PTR will be impossible unless they plan to keep the PTR and not implement the changes for several months - that’s how long it will take to grind your gs 600. The only way this can be some what tested (albeit ineffectively) would be to provide everyone in the PTR all of the mats they require to make the gypsum casks…even then in order to test it out they will have to reduce the cool down for the gypsum and the potion by 1/10th other wise the PTR could run well into March or April of next year. So yeah the PTR won’t help much with that only LIVE testing will provide accurate info…at the cost of player base.

People are losing hundreds of hours of progress. It’s not people overreacting.

Nope. See previous posts.

If I tell you " don’t touch the box or you will get shot" isn’t that enough explanation?
We can all read the dev blog. Testing it or not isn’t going to change what it says.
It’s another time gate. Another difficulty.
It’s exactly the same thing they did with crafting. It will make things harder for those who didn’t rush the game.
With or without testing

If the dev blog said something like “we will significantly increase/decrease the odds of getting void ore” that’s something you can test .

If it says “void ore will only drop when you are lvl 60” it’s that. No need for testing

Well as far as we can read its a temporary reduction for some people, so if it plays out for a better long term experience I am up for that.

And yes its overreacting when none of this is live or tested or seen. Let the PTR run and lets get a few weeks of data under our belts before we claim this isnt or is the path forward.

I could be wrong myself, but from face value it seems like a better long term play, lets see

So next patch when I put on my 609 GS gear it won’t level down to 530 GS ? Yes or no stop laying semantics. You know the answer I literally posted the screenshot.

Of all things, this it’s an easy test. AGS stated we need 30 to 60 mins daily to get mats to craft the orb and turn the orb into casts, we can confirm that. How much each cast will bumb the expertise for the selected gear we will also know.

So we will be able to estimate how long one will need to go from initial expertise to 600 on each gear slot. Most players will not be on expertise baseline, their HWM will be converted to expertise and we work from that point forward to 600.

PTR will show how grindy the gypsum system will be, but again, this is easy to tune. They can make it easier or harder, the system as a whole makes sense to me.

Read the dev post. Watermark is not going to be reset.

You put your gs600 on, it will be gs600

So what’s better for the long term of the game makes a large portion of the player base lose hundreds of hours of gameplay progress. That’s a really dumb strategy.

It wont be changed from the PTR. They only use the PTR to see if the patches cause bugs it has almost nothing to do with Balancing.

if ur 530 watermark then you wont be able to use full power of 600 armor, thats point. Devs just splits on your head with that patch.

It will still be 609GS. You just have to get better to use it as 609GS. That’s on you to be a better player. Play or dont play. Its up to you.
