that will still be a 600 gs item, not sure why everyone keeps glossing over this fact. buying stuff to skip a progression system was a stupid mistake that is now being fixed. just like skipping enemies to open boxes was a way to skip the progression system and is constantly being looked at. as you raise your expertise your 600 item will still be a 600 item and keep being the best you can have at your current expertise. If this is too much for you to handle, there is no sub fee for the game and you are free to leave and come back at will.
the WM is not being reset, its being replaced, but the GS will be dropped down to what ever your current Drop level is, so for people who have Void Bent Armor, this new system will make it so their armor is useless until they raise their Drop levels up to match it, the Expertise system not only lowers the GS down to appropriate levels, but it also lowers the armor/weapon effectiveness to match that of your current drop levels, so, if you got a drop lvl for 510 on a Heavy Armor chest, but you currently have Voidbent chest armor with GS at 600, the expertise system not only lowers that armors gearscore down to 510, but also lowers its effectiveness, meaning less armor…
Thats what has people mad, personally I like it, because it means less people steamrolling everyone who cant afford the crap…
You are not. You are driving us away from playing this game. Personally for me and the people I play with we are teetering on the line. Maybe this game is not for us after all.
That guaranteed expertise bump is just once daily. Even if it were a 10-20 HWM bump daily it would still take you months to get your watermark up on just your armor, let alone any weapons you use. Realistically however with the decisions ags has been making it’ll likely be under 5.
where did you see it’s 1 per day? source, please.
So how do you explain the 'Buying stuff to skip progression" to the crafters who spend hundreds of hours gathering and leveling skills and doing elite zones for material to make BOP high WM gear only to lose the high WM? did we skip progression???
There is almost no other way to explain it.
You would be hard pressed to find a game that has so massively alienated almost every demographic of their player base.
Crafting? (shudder)
PvP? (HA!)
PvE? New Worlds PvE is the LeCroix of MMORPG games.
Housing (nope).
Playing dress up. Surely you can’t make people that love to put their characters in cool outfits mad. (NewWorld: hold my beer…)
Problem: player base says that X or Y is too grindy?
Solution: make it more complex (just because), and increase the required grind.
At launch, I had fun playing New World for hours on end.
600+ hours later I can say confidently that I got my $40.00 worth.
Currently, I am not enjoying playing New World.
I walk away when a game quits being fun or so grindy that it is like a job.
Every patch has been a nail in New Worlds coffin.
I am playing out of habit now, not enjoyment.
I think I will go find something fun.
Amazon should consider marketing New World towards a player base that can use it as a form of self flagellation. They would LOVE this new gear system)
/S
yes you camp bosses in mmos, usually solo or with a friend, not with a zerg and not for 100´s of hours with minimal amounts of drops cos thats the only way to do it on high pop servers.
also you usually do it for a specific drop, not for some random garbage instant savlage trash that has the slight chance of giving you a slightly better piece of instant salvage trash the next time.
this is hands down THE worst progression system ever to be seen in an mmo and the game designer who thought of this should be chased off the company building with a torch and a pitchfork
Maybe if any of you listened to the player base this would t be a problem.
also improving their HWK so their expertise will not be blank state after the update. it is not as bad as you think, stop going nuts. there are good changes for crafters to balance the potential drawback on GS they use for expertise not being on the same level.
I think, after the update they will calm pretty soon… ^^ In my comany I got mostly positive reactions for this upate notes.
And here I was thinking the level restriction on items prevented people from skipping progression.
“After players have earned sufficient Gypsum for an Orb, they won’t earn more for 23 hours.”
Here you go lazy man:D
How do people not see that the majority do not want and a lot will leave if this gets pushed through just look at this thread alone almost 1200 replies…
ESO launch
It’s in the dev blog. Different ways to earn gypsum. You turn gypsum into orbs and then orbs into casts that you open to get the bump. Topaz gypsum you can only do once weekly, I think that’s the one you get off level 55 mobs. But casts you can only do one daily.
Okay where are we getting the " If you are a crafter you wasted hundreds of hours and the people who grinded HWM are rewarded" ??
I genuinely might of missed where this is stated?
There is really not. its just another massive crafting grind that’s potentially useless until you get to 600gs HWM. who gives a shit if you can now make a 600GS item guaranteed if you cant equip it at its level.
If crafters get this shaft they should just reset all HWM to 500 and even the board.
How about you all give us a reason to want to play the game again…
From our stand point you want to take the position of a smug parent who thinks their player base is just some dumb kid that doesn’t know any better. SHOW US where making our gear downgraded was requested by the player base? SHOW US where you are actually listening to ANY of our requests and not just telling us to sit quiet and behave because you know what’s best… Your player count is a fraction of what it was and declining every day. GIVE US AN ACTUAL REASON TO WANT TO LOG IN AND PLAY AGAIN…
Well simple deduction people keep their WM so anyone who has got it high isn,t affected everyone who doesn,t gets nerfed
