I mean I maxed things out before they nerfed it to hell, so now all I log in for is opening chests essentially.
However, someone who’s starting out it’s a real slap in the face if they realize once they cap crafting it won’t benefit them in any way shape or form.
I am one of those crafters and I still think people are blowing things way out of proportion and are just in general being really stupid about stuff. the game had no end game progression system thought out. adding ANY system was going to ruffle feathers. this does nothing to invalidate my time put into crafting. I can still craft stuff that is just as good, I can still customize gear just as well. stop putting so much emphasis on the little number and just get the gear you want and play the game. if you are not enjoying the game, stop playing the game. it’s really that simple. So many people here clearly hate the game yet keep spending all of their time posting about it or playing it. it’s mind boggling. I’ve left plenty of games when I feel they are making decisions that aren’t taking a game the way I want it to go. I’m almost 900 hours in on this one and will still bail if they head off in a direction I don’t care for. This isn’t that direction for me. If it is for you, leave.
Honestly I’m surprised you guys allow as much toxic unconstructive shit posting as you do. Games like FF moderate all of that Garbo off official forums reddits etc and as a result the toxic people have to go to unofficial sources to be toxic and it makes the community so much better and useful as a resource.
At this point, the only feedback they “hear” is us not logging in anymore, not buying expansions and not not buying any stuff in the cash shop. Even if they give freebies.
Yeah, they are running high because this change directly shafts the players who have been enjoying all the content of New World, not just grinding elites for weeks. AGS has literally preached to us about wanting people to take part in all the content, not hyper-focus on meta progression and then you turn around and effectively punish those who have played with diversity and actually enjoyed it, in spite of the problems.
Anyone who did not, or does not, focus on GS farming before this goes live will be effectively diminished in power despite equal investment in playtime and that just feels like absolute garbage.
that isn’t even close to a correct observation. 1-60 is one set of progression, 500-600 is another. the gap is huge from a fresh 60 to a high watermark 60. that is still progression. not sure that deserved an emoji on the end since it wasn’t as well thought out as you may have thought.
Nothing ever gets tested on the PTR (at least not yet) so I don’t want to jump up and down slamming these changes until they come from PTR to live.
However, the initial reception of these changes are that they lead us in a bad direction. HOPEFULLY as things develop on the PTR they don’t both rush the release and ignore the feedback from the players
This is exactly what I said to my friends, I hold with this shit, because the only thing that makes sense now is to grind watermark as fast as possible and it is not fun at all.
This is a hard thread to keep up with (super hot).
I like that they’re intending to provide multiple avenues, even if I hate the time-gate. However, one aspect is under-appreciated here. What’s the options:
Zerg to 600 expertise (think this was @PhysOmega )
Slow Daily grind
and
3. Just say NO to the HWM/Expertise Grind and play OPR/Wars anyway.
Why?
Because they said PvP scores will scale to target/enemy values. So, if you hate RNG and time-gate grinds, just don’t engage with them and lean on the adjusted PvP scaling to compensate you. With that scaling, depending on how aggressive it is, the entire process could devolve into bragging rights (someone else mentioned).
I’m on the sidelines for the most part for the next couple of months until I see the changes settle more and stabilize, but I personally like option 3.
The idea of dirty dancing with RNGs or going through time-gates just isn’t for me. And maybe that’s okay because I might not the target market.
Now only those 3 servers, but yes, that’s a valid concern imo and AGS should address it. I was going to make a post about it, so it’s not tainted with this insane crying.
People on low pop servers got the hardest hit, AGS should do something about it and speeding up merges alone won’t be enough, there is no time to catch up. Not sure what, but they should do something.
I dunno, when they released the first content update everyone was farming the rare spawns on the platforms. It was literally identical to the priest farm. This went on for like a month.
