Dec update response

I’ll simply add my response here that this forced watermark grinding system proposed is a bad idea.
You’ve already lost so many players because of these poor design decisions.
I also know there is no hope you’ll listen.
You are killing your game.

i can surmise this as usleless time gates additional grind .mmmm kkay

Yeah I really think a big chunk of what set off the community was more the way the information was presented than it was the information itself.

Suddenly having a massive system change that causes rippling effects across all players in how they play or what they have invested their time into instead of the information being more along the lines of

“we want to fix the HWM system, here are our proposed changes, try them out on the PTR and we can work with you to adjust as problems arise”

Then @NW_Mugsy telling to everyone to calm down, because nothing calms people down like telling them to calm down :stuck_out_tongue:

With the new Expertise system, if you craft your own level 600 gear, does that also raise your expertise, or does it have to come from drops?

  • Crafting items does not raise your expertise. However, with the addition of the Trade Skill Aptitude system, crafters will be able to earn Emerald Gypsum as a path to increase their expertise.*

devs response above.

This is absolute BS plain and simple, this shit is far too time gated. The Devs can eat a bag of…

Yeah I can’t wait until the Asmongolds of the world have 9000 Apitude in a day :stuck_out_tongue:

If they don’t fix the inability to chat in channels after opr/expedition I’m seriously done. focusing on all this other shit when very basic things are completely broken, leaving them in completely broken state for months, shows that they will only break more and more things as they release new stuff instead of getting the game right first. Game is still mostly a joke “mmo” plagued with bugs all over the place. Encounter at least 10 incredibly bad bugs a day, multiple times.

The changes to hwm to make it visible are great. However, making quest items like the infinity crystal actually end up being 500 gearscore instead of 570 when you get it will feel pretty shitty initially, but actually will be nice to see gear you have equipped essentially level up as you find new stuff, even if you aren’t using that new stuff. But even after running genesis and laz over 30 times each, my jewelry is still only like 530s. And doing chest runs every other day or so also, which is the most boring game loop ever. Adding more dungeons, more dungeon difficulty, and other ways to get gear other than a train of everyone on the server running to pick up chests would be nice. But again, fixing the bugs with the existing system should trump all that. I can’t believe I still have to relog over 30 times a day.

i really feel bad for the community managers. its certainly was their idea to make this drywall system.

Now you’re just being flat out dishonest.

You were nagging on people telling them not to speculate and now you’re being a hypocrite speculating yourself.

Knock yourself out buddy, you’re a good person not to talk to again. Have a nice day.

100% this is not the community managers or likely even the developers fault.

This feels like upper managment setting up the systems to start to funnel in pay for convenience systems to help out with the time-gating.

I think enough is enough. Whether it’s a middle manager or Jeff bezzos himself who is doing this shit, it ain’t worth my money. Heck, it ain’t worth the time I spent on the game, because I will be back pedaled if it goes live.

You guys at ags screwed up big time, I’m sorry. Not blaming exclusively devs, UX, qa or anyone in particular, but the whole company and its team

Feels more like a sorry excuse to make goldselling less valid.

While it might be buried in this high volume thread, I’m trying to think about the crafters who feel gated on Expertise and wanted to avoid the gear score grind.

  • Or to put it more in their terms, why does it make sense to force them to engage in both a crafting and watermarking grind? What’s the benefit?

To that, I’d offer a potential solution:

  • Creation of an Expertise perk for crafted gear / consumables

  • Exists for weaponsmithing, armorsmithing, arcana (potions) and cooking.

  • ~Triples rate of expertise gain on expertise grinding

  • Player can only have 1 equipped Expertise gaining buff at a time

  • Each recipe requires 200 skill in the associated crafting tree to create

  • Each item becomes Bound to crafter and is not tradeable

Looking for solutions here. I understand why the devs want to do this, but I also understand the reaction from crafters who don’t see the benefit of engaging in 2x grinds (looting and crafting)

Thanks for reading,

The clarifications here are I think what we wanted to know and hear, thoughts?

Can anyone link the official post from the Devs about this water mark / Expersites downgrade system (580=520 GS) I can’t seem to find it officially. I am only finding second hand info someones reddit post or snapshots from a chat which are not official. I just want to verify my info.

What in the gaslighting actual fuck is this comment?

This is my second reply to this thread, trying to be constructive.

This change a timed gated Expertise increase, IF implemented should be only implemented on future gear score above 600. Retroactively penalizing players who legitimately acquired gear, through existing in game systems, gathering, crafting, questing etc… is very counter productive to community morale. However putting in this system with a raising of the GS cap to 620 or higher would not penalize existing players who legitimately acquired their items.

This new system also does not account for the greater difficulties being experienced on low population servers where Expeditions, OPR’s, Chest runs are nearly non-existent.

I agree something needs to be done to improve end game content for NW, adding a time gated expertise system, while stripping players who spent hundreds of hours acquiring gear through crafting, questing and/or purchasing, is the wrong approach. Making this new system take effect with NEW higher GS items is the correct way to make this change
