The answer is the same for most of their nerfs, they have this desire/tendency to reward those that took advantage of failed mechanics such as running chests day after day or exploited the crap out of quick boss respawns before they were fixed and actively punish those that decided to enjoy all content of the game that focused on all facets including gathering and crafting professions, fishing, pvp ect. I really feel that those that rushed the content to get to 600 are the reason for the nerf and yet, they are the only ones that are not losing progression.
I have come to the conclusion that if you see something in this game that does not seem right, quickly take advantage of it as you will only be rewarded, never punished.
You want harder? Make a new character and start again with the new XP nerfs. then tell me you have fun while all the easy levelers pre nerf get to bathe in the glory
No one is going to stay around for this. You NEVER take away from your player base, not if you want to keep them. No significant amount of players will stay and take this abuse. Seems like you will. Have fun when there’s 1-2 servers total and 10k players playing this game.
NW is probably going to descend into the same spiral as other MMO or mobile game, AKA login every day to pick up your reward… I really hate this kind of “gameplay”
you guys constantly ignore us and prove that you dont care this is just another example of it, there isnt any "constructive way for us to say thanks for screwing us again and forcing us all to dump thousands of hours into this game doing watermark even if we specifically chose to do crafting instead so we wouldnt have to do that. its just disappointing and forcing people to quit because they cant be competitive without spending hundreds of hours grinding watermark if they dont want to. Its absurd its a bad idea and the community wasnt asked about it at all as with every other change so far.
If I wanted to chest grind I would have stayed in GW2 and their lame karma trains. I did it ONCE in New World and it was terribly boring. Who thought that was good content?
Instead I focused on grinding out mats to make gear instead. Now months later I found out that I chose the “wrong way to play” and my gear gets nerfed because the path the devs laid out for me was “wrong”.
Thank god I’ve been given the “choice” to pay taxes and un-nerf my gear over the next several months. Gee, AGS thanks?
EDIT: Oh according to a data-mined leak, the chest farm will be NERFED by a factor of 10x. Way to listen to the players.

How insanely disconnected are you. The game’s getting balanced around sweaty hardcore players with no regard for people who can only afford to play about 3 hours a day. And then there’s the HWM system that only starts after you get to 60. How is it people want instant gratification, when the game is inherently designed to start at 60? And now the changes forces people who enjoy PVP more than PVE, into PVE, just to PVP. What logic is that. You’re not interested in balance, you’re only interested in controlling the player base just because it seems like AGS has sided with your style of play. Get out of the house and touch some grass for once, see what the real world is like for a change.
What about your player base who think that the Watermark/Expertise System is the dumbest thing ever created and needs to be destroyed forever? Those players that will do anything to avoid such stupid endgame? You gonna listen to them or just wish them well on their next game?
too many words here that reads “this game is not for me.” Just make your point and move on. Too many threads with demands, rage and just flat out aggressive attacks towards the developers.
Hey, here’s an idea. Leave a feedback, rage or not - then move on. Do something else. play something else.
