Decorating House Causing Crash Issues

  • Issue had: When entering Decorations mode in house, The decorations menu takes a while to load and refresh after placing objects/moving object, and any interaction made while said loading/refreshing Freezes game and Crashes out

  • Steps to recreate:
  1. Enter housing unit (I currently am using the house directly across from the arcanist table in Windsward)
  2. Enter Decorations Menu
    3a. While loading attempt to move an Object
    3b. After placing an object, select a new one before the Decorations Menu updates the list
  3. The game hitches, usually resulting in a freeze requiring a game restart.

Same issue.

How I know itā€™s about to crash, I notice the ā€œdecorations placedā€ number up the top jumps up. E.g. From 85/200 from like 17/200.

Exactly this, Iā€™ve also seen the number drop before a crash as well.

I feel like its a calculation error double counting objects or half counting them.

Its extremely reproducible and Iā€™m surprised its not on the Known issues page

Iā€™ve been having this same issue! It freezes for about 40 seconds, then it lets me continue, but it is super annoying.

ALSO, Iā€™ve noticed the same thing about the housing number jump. I thought it was because I have one of the T 4 houses that has the 2 stories, then a 3rd room that is separate (like the one behind the T4 that is across the street from the town board in WW), but seeing you guys say this makes me realize perhaps Iā€™m not alone. This is actually a pretty annoying bug if youā€™re really moving stuff around. Sometimes I end up frozen 5 or 6 times in the span of moving two items. :frowning:

Good to know I might only need to wait, I thought it full out crashes. Still annoying

Mine is a full crash. Goes unresponsive and dumps to desktop.

Itā€™s the only crash Iā€™ve ever had in this game, and youā€™re right itā€™s easily reproducible.

Same issue as well. Makes decorating the house a nightmare. Constant freezing in the house menu. i7 8700k 32 GB 3200mhz ram EVGA 1080 Ti and game is installed on a samsung SATA SSD

Sadly I donā€™t think this is particularly a Computer/Hardware Issue.

I have the same issue. It freezes for 30-40 seconds and then I can continue but with a lot of lag.

At this time i am ready to dump mu house, no pleasure in decorating at all.

Iā€™m getting a full crash as well. Attempt to place an item and the game freezes, screen gets whitewashed then I get a pop up asking if I want to close the program. Happens multiple times in a row when placing different objects.
