In it‘s current state New World is lacking performance, it‘s lacking balance, it‘s lacking combat responsiveness, it‘s lacking a proper report system, it‘s lacking a ton of things. But most importantly it‘s lacking fun.
Since the launch of the game the development team has been hyperfocused on artificially increasing the playtime through the introduction of grindy & unfun systems instead of focusing their energy on actually making the game more fun to play.
I really don‘t understand why the’re still so focused on extending the grind instead of introducing more fun things to do once we‘re done with the grind.
As an alpha player that has supported this game for years and has always believed that the game will turn out great with just a couple more updates, I honestly feel myself slowly cracking under these bad updates and even worse decisions. The game really doesn‘t seem to improve as much as it has to, actually quite the opposite.
I wholeheartedly encourage the development team to rethink their approach and take a step back to evaluate what actually makes their game fun (and focus on these things). Otherwise I really don‘t see New World being able to compete longterm.
