I haven’t really PvE’ed until recently. I don’t know how anyone could do it for more than a few hours a day, especially with the current mutations, depths/dynasty. However, I could pvp for like 10 hours straight and be happy. I think the pvp in New World is the best part of the game. That is my opinion, obviously, and other people have different interests.
I PvE because I like to collect the PvE themed sets, not because the content really gets me excited. I don’t go for shards or to try and clear it as fast as possible.
Peak gameplay is proning on a freshly killed opponent while your buddy does the ref-count emote and another friend does the Medley Shuffle all while said opponent is bitching you out in area chat.
Interesting perspective. Maybe take a break from pvp for a bit and collect some hemp or something.

Shouldnt it be 19600 potential war slots assuming everyone spreads out evenly and is efficiently slotted in wars?
Even if you assume each server only has 100 people who are perma slotted in every war youre around 7%.
7% of the population competing in the highest end content the game has to offer is pretty average for an mmo.
What % of people have trifecta achievements in eso or 2400 in rbgs in wow?

Even 1800 in rbgs. What % of the wow population has that? Cant really compare any meta to nw considering we have like 2 patches live since the root changes and everything before that was rubberbanding and being rooted into the floor from vg.

100%. And I say this as a fire mage. Flamethrower feels as cheesy as Void Blade, requiring no skill to use.
It should never do more damage than ranged Light & Heavy Attacks that one must land consistently.
What I mean is NW has zero content like RBG’s from WoW, hence you can’t compare the two in my opinion.
Wars are not competitive, there is no ranking system. Wars are a 50 vs. 50 zergfest where individual skill matters almost nothing.
I would personally rate a casual 1800 RGB/Arena player more highly than any EF/WW owner and I have the goddamn EF and WW owner Title myself.
Now that’s not per se a bad thing, NW is currently just a casual game and that has its positive things . But you can’t take wars in this game seriously imho, not even mentioning the clownfiesta that is OPR.
Edit: I mean, I watched some of the wars on twitch. And I was amazed how all in chat and the caster were praising the stamina management of the bruisers PoV, they said one of the best in the world. Not depleting your stamina is considered the highest a player can achieve in this gamemode, how sad that is. Had a chuckle out of it atleast.
Having an 1800 rating or 1800 rated team in RBGS is far more difficult than putting together a successful war group in NW honestly.

What’s keeping this game alive are the grinders, the trade skills are whats keeping the game alive, its by far the best part of the game

That’s why it is my personal opinion launch pvp was some of the best pvp. Being able to contend someone 10 levels up on you by pure skill was phenomenal, sure if they hit you it trucked the shit outta you…but fuck me, it was pretty damn satisfying.

I disagree. The organization required to consistently get 50 people online and trying to win for you (every 2-3 days with no second chances) has caused so many govs in companies ive been in to quit. If you arent in supple or maybe some of the eu companies, this applies to you.
For every person on the roster i swear there are two more with that build who want to flame you for slotting the “worse guy”
I dont think 1800s in rbg is harder skill wise either. Ive farmed that on plenty of alts and its typically pretty easy to pug.
Launch pvp was bugged - resil granted 25% damage reduction which favored voidbent users (primarily melee) unfairly.
And no, you are still wrong. I am in a company with territory ownership and i can tell you there are dozens of people involved in managing those resources. He said territory ownership is everything and you said .9% of people get to do that. Its the most narrow definition possible to fit your very biased argument. Not convincing at all and still less accurate than what i wrote. Wars (both rosters), owning consuls, and owning officers are part of territory ownership for anyone arguing in good faith.

The .9% territory ownership number is just as useless of a statistic as when you first posted it. Its 7% minimum if every server has 100 war slots (no server likes this). In reality probably 15% of the population wars regularly.
You misinterpretted his post at best and if you do wars you already knew what he was talking about. Nobody cares who sits as the governor if they cant own the territory for a full pay period without dozens of people cooperating with them. Group effort.
