Yeah, in BDO before, about like 14 months ago. The only way to be a factor in PvP was to spend hundreds of USDs a month and hope you get lucky. The Devs over there have changed that now. So that new and returning players don’t have to rely on whaling. In order to make progress in that game now. Hence why I’ve returned to BDO. And haven’t really stopped playing since coming back.

BDO is the worst mmo I’ve ever played (in 20 years). The upgrade system was utterly shit and the desync even worse than in NW. Not to mention all the p2w elements in it. Personally, the only good thing about it was selling the account and earning hundreds of euro.
This was my experience.

bdo is p2w and has an even more unbalanced pvp than new world. they buff and nerf classes literally every month and change entire metas just to get you to coupon all your stuff over to another class to make that $$$

and lets not mention the speedhack bot that most of the top “competitive” bdo players use to grind for them. you can even increase ur animation speeds by 5-10% in pvp and no one would notice.

this game literally hands you multiple bis items for free. having a mix of those and some 2 perk items is more than enough

To be able to fight in all pvp modes in NW you need expertise on 600 and they just purple gear from market with proper perks. Armor isnt issue at all. Jwerly is - since only dex and str can farm dungeons to get very good jewerly. INT/FOC builds have to buy. Weapons is easy case since very good weapons for all builds can be farmed in dungeons.

Its not perfect but its not bad. Ppl thing they need BIS gear to be competetive. Its not true.

True. But bdo is much harder to balance than NW and its 6 trick-pony. So let’s compare when NW has at least half the skill depth of bdo.

They just use 240-300 FPS monitors and macros. Literally makes you attack faster and deal more dps than 60 fps monitors. Cuz the game animations are based on Frames. Even the iframes are frame numbers, not really duration. The Devs tried to change this long ago, but reverted it… idk why.

I could not possibly for the life of me get behind the weird, floaty, vague… everything. I autowalked to quests, then I autowalked to where the quests took place, then I just vaguely remember kinda ‘click click-- okay everything’s dead, next?’

I think I made it through 30 levels of that before I decided, “Wow, I might be a self-loathing masochist with crippling self-esteem issues, but even I don’t want to put myself through this.”
