Deliberate node stealing

Much better.

You’re making this too easy for them. I presume you don’t care about the forums, if not carry on.

There has been an agro issue in the game where a player can drag NPCs past another player and proximity causes the agro to change. It was worse in early development than now but it still persists.

sorry man but i cant tell if you are serious or meme’ing

lol

Don’t even bother to go to the Orichalcum ore locations with mobs around them. You will get trained just for showing your face. Alexa forbid you are just passing though or discover the area or quest there. You will be train asap to die. If you try to play as intended and kill each mob individually to keep things clean, you will get trained for being there.

This was my experience a couple weeks ago. I haven’t gone back to the areas. It exploit central.

this whole thread is hilarious to me

Yeah, I noticed that. I did learn that if you get out of the line of sight before they notice you they ignore you. But that only works if there are obstacles nearby.

agro based on line of sight might be by design.
The issue comes when you use long range spell or projectile (I’ve done it with life staff or musquet) then the mob targets the nearest player.

In the end, it is a flaw in the game. Agro should not change that since it is exploitable in the manner OP has presented and otherwise.

Initial face agro should not change until and unless someone has done something to create a greater amount of agro such as doing damage to the mobs.

I agree, I just was commenting on the agro by line of sight… that is pretty useful to play in a sneaky way

We need an official response about this, to know what is considered griefing and what isnt. as it stands now i dont train mobs on people because its a dick move, but if AGS is going to turn a blind eye then it’s time to fight fire with fire i say.

I guess that unless that person is flagged for PvP then using mobs to interrupt the player can be considered as disruptive behavior.

You could try to report if this happens to you, but you better record your play sessions in case it happens and you need proof

As it stands now we don’t even know if this is reportable, need an official response.

Disruptive behavior is reportable according to Amazon Games’ code of conduct

2. Play to enjoy the game

Do: value other players for their in-game contributions and activities, and respect their style of play. While we encourage competitive play where appropriate (e.g., player versus player modes), keep it friendly and respectful.

Do not: engage in behaviors that reduce or disrupt the enjoyment of the game for others. This includes spamming chat, griefing, throwing matches, boosting, win-trading, trolling, or spoiling the game by sharing unreleased or confidential materials.

Sadly this is open to debate. While i agree with you, AGS may not. Also remains to be seen if AGS actually does anything or not.

Fair enough. It all depends on the GM reviewing the report.

Yep. The flavor is Brussel Sprouts.

Maybe make it so you can’t be knocked off a node. You take damage but if you want to try and finish the harvest while getting hit go for it. Been a few times I’ve been really close to having the node harvested and something knocks me off.
Would be good if I could decide am I close enough to done to survive or should I jump back and fight. Doesn’t solve the problem completely but at least you get to finish a node you are close to getting done.
A couple of nights ago there were three 60 level players near a gate that players doing a quest needed to enter. Whenever a player approached they would all go different directions gathering up what evil doers they could and then run back to the player trying to do the quest hoping the quester would be killed.
I watched it for a while and feel like an ass now because I didn’t record and report it. Stealing nodes I think is just part of the game but that kind of harassment (took me three tries to spell that correctly) should get some kind of punishment. Following a person around to try and steal nodes probably should also be something that gets you a reprimand of some kind if there is obvious proof.
I don’t think he was following me should be considered proof.

yes
