Describe your character and their "background." (RP Friendly)

I wish more people would do this, instead of complaining about other things about the game.
I love this game, warts and all… I also love a bit of role play that this game should have more of…

C’mon gamers… write the story of your character… PLEASE…

My character is broke without a trade post.

Defeated by overpowered Hatchet users.

Worn down from lag.

My character came into this world with a smile but that smile has turned into sadness and disappointment.

My character is packing up his things and heading the hell out of this wretched place.

RIGHT! I love encouraging RP and lore in the worlds in which I play. Everyone should take time and get into their characters a bit more and they could enjoy it so much more!

The Horse/Turkey Whisperer

My character is a Horse Whisperer who was forced to flee from his homeland after being unjustly accused of using his special ability to plan and coordinate a series of mysterious horse-related crimes, including robberies, burglaries, horse-jackings, hay thefts and rigging horse races for the purpose of illicit gambling.

The charges were modestly exaggerated, of course, but faced with testimony from two stallions and three fillies, my character knew he would never be given a fair trial, so he stowed away disguised as a horse aboard a three-masted schooner bound for the New World.

Alas, disaster struck when a violent storm caused the ship to founder on an uncharted island, and my character awoke to discover his shipmates, who were not properly protected by horse costumes, transformed into hideous zombie-like creatures. After summarily executing them all at the behest of a helpful nearby scout, my character set off into the wilderness in search of new horse accomplices – I mean horses in need of aid.

Horrified to discover the island completely devoid of horses or ridable mounts of any kind, my character resolved to broaden his horizons and spent several months attempting unsuccessfully to communicate with various animals when, one fateful day, he managed to strike up a surprisingly interesting conversation with a nearby turkey.

Dialog and deliberations soon followed, and after a mostly-accurate count of a show of wings at the annual Turkey Convocation, my character was self-proclaimed King of the Turkeys, with full lifetime and hereditary rights as undisputed sovereign, and at his acceptance speech vowed to bring peace, order and justice throughout Aeternum.

With his newfound powers, my character immediately began organizing and deploying all manner of Turkeydom, including related, suspiciously similar feathered creatures such as cranes, etc. into a sophisticated intelligence and espionage network that continuously monitors all activity on Aeternum.

Soon, when the time is right, they will make their move, and the Turkocalypse will come.

So beware, beware ye all, and treat all turkeys kindly, lest thy iniquity condemn thee to a death of a thousand pecks!

It would probably be best not to discuss the status of Agent Barkimedes at this time…

Kandy misses her parents and the farm… Her favorite goat too…
As she passes all the mob-infested farms her heart saddens for all of those that worked them. What happened? Did they turn into the creatures that now toil the soil purposelessly? Or did they flee, leaving their much-loved homes?

Regardless… the farms are now devoid of all human life. This is what drives Kandy, this is what makes her fight so hard. She fights to bring humanity back to their way of life, however mundane it may be. She fights for humanity.

She doesn’t recognize herself anymore, what she has become, what she will be. But she will continue her journey in this blighted world. She will continue the battle for all that she holds dear, for humanity…

Maybe we will get more stories! We can only hope

Kandy met a strange man, fishing by the side of a small lake… He spoke of things that resonated with her. She went on quests he gave her, and now she is a Soul Warden.

Along the way, she met many characters that gladdened her heart, made the fight worthwhile. Even a little dog, Barkemedes, softened her heart and reminded her of home. A safe place that was warm and full of love.

She still doesn’t know what becoming a Soul Warden will be for her, or the world, but she hopes that it will one day mean that the darkness will be lifted, that humanity can once again be safe from corruption.

But now Kandy is poor… did someone steal all her money?
Or did she foolishly spend all her money on the market?

Kandy is very financially responsible and has lost everything wagering on dice games in First Light.

Diehardt was originally a nameless homeless boy who accidentally stowed away on a sailor ship. When the ship was pillaged by pirates, they took pity on the poor body found among the cargo and decided to adopt him. Wanting to not have the rough pirates influence him to much, the first mate did his best to give Diehardt an education, teach him manners, and avoid making him develop any bad habits. The captain only cared for his cabin boy to become a brave fighter among is men, bestowing the name Diehardt upon him in hopes he’ll live up to the image of a mighty warrior. Unfortunately, Diehardt turned out to be more timid than imagined, but he eventually became the crew mascot due to his naivety and enthusiastic earnesty.

The pirates had maintained a secret headquarters on an unknown island on the seas for years and raised Diehardt in the village there. The pirates returned to the island every year to restock and bring in new supplies. The pirates took Diehardt with them every other year to show him the ropes of being a pirate. All the pirates tried to teach him their fighting styles in hopes Diehardt would inherit their weapons and will.

However when Diehardt turned 17, the pirates never came back that year, nor the year after that. With the help of an ex-pirate who lived on the mainland, Diehardt found the last known designated location of his pirate family. Aeternum.

Diehardt set sail with two of the other pirate boys that grew up on the island in hopes of finding what happened to the pirates, to only be met with an oncoming storm that smashed his boat against the rocks and he would wash up in what would be known as First Light with nothing but the clothes on his back and an abandoned hatchet found on the beach. He would find one of his friends somewhere in First Light a month later practically peer pressuring him to join the Marauders because Marauders had the least territory and it would be fun to try and take over. While Diehardt admired the Syndicate’s power and the Covenant’s dedication, in the end he chose Marauders for the freedom and in hopes of finding his pirate family among them. It was definitely not because his friend was continuously harassing him to do something more challenging.

In a year, Diehardt would distinguish himself as jack of all trades, able to diligently harvest herbs, mine ore or chop trees all day because of his upbringing on the island. He could alternate between weapons on a whim due to his pirate family’s various teachings on fighting. He would mostly become infamous as a ferocious melee dueler who could adapt to any opponent in 3 matches.

Outside of battle, Diehardt is as upbeat and cheerful as any normal person, completely hiding his bloodthirsty habits he gained as a pirate. After joining a simple, but powerful company that would be known to raise many powerful rookies over the years, Diehardt often worked with a few veterans Marauders to learn as much as he could. His company occasionally also worked with members of other factions, allowing him to befriend various figures and weaken any hostility towards the factions themselves. Though he fought wars and crushed acquaintances with a smile on his face, and died to other close friends that were on the opposite side, it never truly bothered him due to the thrill of battle and incapability of death.

He eventually met with his other friend again, a member of the Syndicate. Neither friend let the factions bar each other, as all three friends joyously gathered together again to discuss experiences. Once they finished describing their pasts and gotten their bearings about the island, they could finally start working towards the main reason they came here. Diehardt had seen and heard tales of most pirates becoming Lost due to crazy rituals and catostrophe, but Diehardt refused to believe either could happen to his jolly captain who was built like a mountain, and the stern yet kind first mate who was a demon with a rapier. The two friends shared his sentiment, but Aeternum is not a land of happiness. It may be a land of reunion, but it will be filled with more tragedy, betrayal and futility than any hell.

Welcome to Aeternum, a land of glorious riches, power and despair.

NordhNet, son of Elauan isn’t really a fighter, a wealthy man, or anything.

He was looking for work in order to make enough money to finally marry his loved one, get a house and settle down.

So he took a job on a ship, not really knowing or caring where it took him. It was a job and payed quite well.

Ending up here wasn’t planned or his wish so now he improvise in any way he can to get home.
Too dumb to steal and too proud to beg he seeks answers and ways to get home, if that means he needs to kill and betray…so be it.
