Desync and Rubberbanding

I experience an ungodly amount of desync and rubberbanding.

I would say half of the time im popping back to a spot thats a second away,
-Hits dont register
-Cant climb surfaces
-Cant open chests
-Doors bug and become invisible
-Cant dodge slams from boss’
-I get pushed into surfaces forcing me to unstuck.

You would think that this happens only in high action situations, it happens when im running, if i stand on a surface, even during loading screens… ok that last one i made up.

But its obscene, so many other MMO’s got this right no matter where you live (Ping), but not Amazon…?

I have sent the devs feedback logs multiple times. They can read into my data too.

and no I dont have a bad internet connection, I play tons of online games (Including MMO’s) and this is the only one that I experience this much rubberbanding and desync.

  • sometimes I use a gap close skill, just to find out later that all this time I was stuck at the same spot and took damage like a test dummy.

what ping do you play with?

200, but like i said so many other games MMO’s have figured this out.
Its not a brand new fix in this genre of game.

I’ve played on 250ping, 160ping and 80ping and yeah desync and rubber banding is way worse on high ping (high ping also slows down all your animations by a lot). So if you have bad internet like me or just playing far away from any server location (so everyone in asia pretty much) then you kinda fucked. It’s especially bad when a lot of players are on screen and in PvP :frowning:.

Won’t be fixed anytime soon, if ever. It’s down to the Lumberyard engine. It’s why the servers are limited to such a small population.

It’s got underlining network code issues. It’s why I was amazed they haven’t been using Phased Technology till recently, but that’s only for wars.

If Amazon decide to re-write the base code for Lumberyard 2.0 / Open 3D Engine aka Azoth Engine 2.0 your issue might get resolved.

just feels like a giant oversight

  • visuals - check.
  • open world - check.
  • gearing - check.
  • progression - check.

being able to do any of these things without getting kicked back 10 seconds into the past.
that can wait… 5 years yeah.

When they start making a game, they know everything about the engine, they ask the questions.
So this is purposeful, it would seem that they hoped it wouldnt be this big of a problem.
