Hiya -
Been thinking about New World this morning - the roadmap and all the posts with really good ideas… with hope that there will be time to get some of those in in addition to the roadmap.
But everywhere I look, I’m dragged back to desync. And when I play… I’d have to say the most frustrating issue is when my character is not reacting or moving correctly. So clearly it’s a massively important issue to players. And Luxendra recently confirmed this is a top-top-top priority for the devs.
What’s missing is information from the devs on what’s going on with it. We know it’s not one thing, or a simple fix, AGS has told us that. And we know it has a lot of focus, they’ve told us that too. But that’s it.
As a way to further build on the improving connection & relationship between AGS and its players… why not start a devblog thread that focuses on this core issue that has top priority? Someone from QA perhaps or a lead could post each week with an update on what’s going on. Not fixes to deploy - but what has AGS discovered in the past week? What theories have been tested… that ended up failing? Or ended up working? What, if anything, can the players do to help provide information or analytics to VASTLY increase the data in AGS’ hands?
I personally think it’d be a win-win. And if I knew what would help, and the best way to execute it, I would provide whatever is needed in a heartbeat. In-game feedback submissions with a particular comment that makes it easy to find… video uploads… I dunno. There is a very large community of people who are basically living their non-work life in your virtual world, AGS… use us!
