This game’s potential is just HUGE. And most of it is put to waste.
It’s like AGS keeps shooting their own leg over and over.

Its not WoW… I actually hate games where your aim is the tab key… Requires literally no skill, and you are a human macro to kill things or pvp…
At least in new world you are supposed to aim and lead your shots, and you can even miss with melee.
However, i agree with the fact, the rewards are between a piece of garbage and completely shit.
At the first couple days of my gametime i was horrified, i get 2.5k EXP and 100 gold for a level 25 quest… And i get the same amount for a level 59 quest. How is that?
If i notice this earlier, at my first 3 hours of gameplay time i get a refund asap… Sadly i noticed it around level 45. The only thing which is raising is the XP for dungeon quests.
Waow It’s like you read my mind and put it into words better than I would ever be able to.
Frankly, I did not care a lot to wear only Epic 590+ gear. It is fine with me.
Actually difference to GS600 is, in my view, very minor.
Things change now, with the introduction of the umbral shard system.
Only 600GS gear can be upgraded.
Which means the prior small gap if you are content with 590+ gear widens.
And I agree with all the problems you describe to gain 600GS gear.
And to your questions to the devs. If I got it right from past dev posts, then they play the game now and then, but not with the intensity a lot of other players are playing it. Which means, they have almost no clue what they are designing. Point is that you can only understand things you actually really do yourself.
Targeting is only a little bit of skill. And it’s fun, I cannot disagree here.
But Mythic Raiding or high rating Arenas in WoW require 10 times more skill than anything in New World with 3 buttons. Mythic Sylvanas (that is the current final raid boss) encounter alone has more mechanics than all dungeons in New World altogether.
Well, if you already mentioned… i cant really understand how a “pvp based game” can live with 3 weapon skills, and 1 weapon basic combo. Its like a low budget movie on netflix…
Would be so much better if NW team did not increase GS to 625, and instead made that new currency from mutated dungeons to purchase very good or even bis 600 gear.
Well I would say with 2 weapons, 3 skills, dodge, block, potions - it can absolutely be fun and competitive.
But the game needs…
– to never lag
– to switch weapons easily (Check - CC? Then no change. No CC? Immediate change even if 20 people damage you at this very moment).
– to drink potions easily (same logic as with weapon switch)
– to fix all the game breaking bugs (e.g. can’t run bug, fast run bug)
– to fix non-game breaking bugs that irritate you every day (wanna see all wars and invasions on OPR join? can’t trade / chat after OPR / dungeons?)
– new content (NEW dungeons / raids, PvP arenas)
Making us farm 2 months in a row is NOT NEW CONTENT.
6 weapon skills, 3 basic attacks on melee/2 on ranged, dodge, jump, block. I’ve got 12 counted to far, let me know if I missed any.
I disagree with the author. While I was rocking up to 60, I always used only those things that I knocked out, with the exception of bags, rings and earrings. At level 60, yes, I had to buy equipment, because it’s hard to knock something out for my build.
I think that the developer should have introduced some reagents for the characterization modifiers, but apparently this contradicts the mechanics. Fractions have similar reagents, but they are narrowly focused, only for fraction items. And faction items are now much worse than those that can be bought relatively inexpensively.
Yeah, the problems with new 625 cap are:
– epic 599 and lower gear becomes garbage
– GS increase from 600 to 625 does not add much power (the 3rd perk does, but it is given on GS 600), so they scale mutated dungeons to GS and change damage formula to GS.
– I just don’t wanna farm anything again. I was in Lazarus 200+ times and I feel like I don’t wanna be there ever again. I want the new PvP / PvE content. How hard can it be to do a square arena for 3v3 fights?
AGS should have in mind bringing new or old players at this point back to the game, GS increase will just create bigger gap between the new comers as well. Its like a lose lose for everyone except potentially few players that have some bis gear
I mean who really cares about gearing while leveling? It’s a small part of the game, and it does not matter how you level to 60. You can chop trees to 60 if you’d like.
I am speaking about gearing at 60 of course.
Yeah it’s like new farm thing without catch up mechanic. I have 590 expertise on everything, and I still feel bad about this change.
I just can’t imagine how people with 550 average expertise feel now.
Its like grinding gear for 3months to be able to have some fun in pvp but no pvp at the end of the tunnel, just increase of grind
great com, thanks
Then I don’t understand what your dissatisfaction is. Good things come from somewhere in the market. If you can’t get a good thing from mobs or chests, buy it. Or vice versa. The issue of garbage drop can be touched upon in any similar game, it happens everywhere. In “NW” unnecessary things are needed to repair equipment. The only thing that seems inconvenient to me is the process of obtaining spare parts from dozens of unnecessary things: it is extremely inconvenient.
Paying gold for progressing insteading of getting loot myself is what I do not like.
If you give a person 1 million gold, he does not need to play the game. Gold is the only thing that matters most in New World.
Summing up, I believe that the game lacks a predictable drop of good things. For the same “WOW” there have been databases for a long time where you can see what you can get from where. In “NW”, this is apparently still poorly distributed. Or due to the fact that the game is new, the balance between production and drop has not yet been adjusted, because it’s all vague.
Truth bought all my gear. No we’re close to bis. Only territory owners can afford bis.
Adjust tax revenue and restitution must be paid back.
