What about those who laundered their duped money ?
Like selling a iron ore for 100K from their main account, and make a separate steam account who do the duplication and buy to their main.
Will you be able to catch their main account ?
Same question for those who feed company with rare materials or money they got from dup ? Will you ban whole company for using duplicated items ?

You cannot explain why the server would not calculate your fall when jumping from a large height and instead freeze you in place and allowing you to be unkillable, simply because you click and drag your game window, unless it’s at least somewhat client authoritative.
You also cannot explain why you can submit code to force close someone elses game in the chat if it’s server authoritative. Those things just don’t happen. Look, I’m not here to say the game is entirely client sided, otherwise we’d see people deleting other people’s characters, and free skin sets galore. What I AM saying though, is that the game has too much authority on the client’s side.
I think you know the answer to that. They have no way of taking laundered money out of the economy without affecting legit players. It’s irreversible unless they prove otherwise. So far they haven’t and it’s all just talk

If you wipe or rollback, you will most likely lose a majority of the population who busted their asses playing the game legit. Don’t do it. Don’t even consider it.
As someone in my guild suggested, a way to fix the problem is to introduce the newer tier of armor / weapons and items. Make all the crap people duped to get obsolete, because now we have access to better Tier 6 stuff. If big damage number and health bars scare you, just scale everything back a bit. Make ilvl 550 the current max, and make the new Tier 6 stuff ilvl 600.
This is a shit show. No way they can track all the players abusing the exploits and laundering the golds. Also, ppl can just dupe items and lvl their skills to 200. I doubt they can track that kind of activity.
I spent so many hours to lvl my jc, and now a cheater can do it in few mins. I have 0 faith they can resolve the issue. The game will probably survive, but a lot of cheaters will stay undetected and its just not fair. Im out, gonna play something else.

Some differents bugs for Fire Staff:
- Incinerate deal no damage
- Pillar deal no damage
- Burn out deal no damage
- Auto use pillar on either when we play with rune
- Ghost fire ball
- mastery of 5% mana recovery give more than 5%
Now on Ice Gauntlet:
- Blizzard deal no damage
- Mastery to root people on blizzard or freeze do not root
- When we’re in our blizzard, another Ice Gauntlet can root us (Blizzard debuff active on us)
- Big spike on Ice spike spell do not proc if the little pikes touch something
- Frozen wall don’t root people and can root us …
- No regen mana after 3 succesfull hits if we take the mastery
Probably other problems but these mainly make his weapons no-playable
well now New World needs more PR now.
Do you really think they’d do that? I mean, it’s probably technically possible, but I don’t think they’d go through that much work. I think the best they’ll do is ban the people who used the glitch itself more than 2-3 times (some might have used it unknowningly), but I don’t think they’ll ban the people who benefitted from it, like the whole companies’ worth of players that nowadays run in full voidbent sets crafted with duplicated materials. They were most probably just given their sets by one or two other people in the company who executed the duplications.
The best thing would indeed to do as you said:
- Fix the bugs so there can be no more duplication.
- Ban the obvious exploiters.
- Slowly and carefully investigate and also ban or suspend those who benefitted off it (by receiving items or buying off the TP - some did that just to avoid a ban).
- Revert the situation on an individual basis: take the items away and give back the legitimate gold paid for them.
That would be the perfect solution to the problem. The economy would be reverted back to its completely legitimate state and no wipe would be necessary.
However I’m afraid that’s not possible in practice. Duplication glitches have been exploited since launch and are only coming up now because they became widespread. They said “a few players” exploited the glitch and that might be true concerning direct exploitation, but many, many, many more people benefited off it (thus exploited the glitch indirectly IMO).
My server has one company who owns half of the map. The day the exploit came out I logged in and saw hordes of them wandering around Everfall and Windsward, all in full voidbent sets. I’ve yet to see one that’s not wearing full voidbent gear. It’s absurd. I hope they eventually get banned and/or have their duplicated gear removed from them. If they stay and get to keep their gear, New World will just stop being fun to me.
