Devs can you please do something about pvp players screwing up the game for pve players and everyone else?

If you don’t see the story, you should just quit the game, you’re just wasting your time. Go play some arena-pvp and leave games like NewWorld to PVP-players who wont more than just a MOBA with animated lobby!

I feel like I’ve read this thread before

No. I’m fully aware that there is a story, but it is the most vanilla, run of the mill, ‘chosen one’ good vs evil storyline. It’s utterly meaningless, bland, and obviously thrown in as a last resort by intern writers.

But again, the story being bad isn’t the point, it’s that story has nothing to do with PVP.

I agree there should be a way for a company of the owning company’s faction to be able to have a ‘civil war’ as such, but to completely take all control away from players and taxation is stupid. It’s literally the only thing to fight over in the game atm.

How about get organized and rebel? The French did!

That’s what this game is about. It’s not a cushy pve ride - it’s hell to pay!

I would like to see that a faction can not ever be without a territory, so once they fall to one, influence can be gained against it to 100%, but no war can be declared. But that’s it. The rest must stay as is, including the ability to hike the taxes through the roof. That is in fact part of it.

I find it quite typical that at the slightest sign of trouble, people run to the forum, asking for everything to be made easy. They want AGS to interfere, instead of getting active themselves, using the mechanics this game provides them with to sort their troubles themselves. You matter, your actions and inactions can play a role in what is happening in your micro society (server). This is an ambitious and amazing concept, yet people want it ruined, to just have another cushy pve game.

Well, this game simply is not it. Here you have it from the horse’s mouth.

The world building supports way better storys, so that argument is somewhat meaningless.
The bigger question is: If you want your PVP to have nothing to do with story, why play NewWorld? The goal (while not yet reached) is a story driven PVP/PVE-Game where players provide a big portion of the story (they are supposed to roleplay the faction conflict). Yes, the story right now is bad, but they might be able to change that. What they can’t change are players who are not interested in having story driven PVP. If you want PVP like CoD and BF just victorian, NewWorld will always disappoint you, no matter how much developers change PVP-mechanics to you liking!

until they put some sort of mechanic to prevent what is currently happening… especially with the exploits… war sucks ass right now. winning right depends on if your opponent is going to actually play or exploit.

at the start of the closed beta, the town boards were all one thing, they did change them slightly so those doing them could influence what they could help with. this gave the pure pve a way to influence the town. they did listen that much after complaints.

the problem is, like on my server and a few others in the beta, we saw formation of megacompanies and monopolies. they were bound to happen and what they did was legitimate, because there was nothing in place to stop what they did. the company that took over my map was well organized both in and out of the game and brilliant in their tactics.

what did they do?

took over the majority of the map- legit, that is the purpose of the game, if beta had continued they would have taken the entire map-this is before the current exploits- 600+ mega company is hard to beat
they then devolved every single town they took, including their “base” town down to tier 2 for everything
as well they put everything on extreme
despite the complaints from their own players in their own companys- company, company2. company3 etc… they refused to improve towns, boards were dead.
opposing faction players had a hard time leaving any town for the 10+ of their players at each gate if flagged
basically they almost completely had the entire server locked down and limited with no way to make anything above t2 in ownable territories. banding together for the other factions was pretty much useless because of facing a megacompany.

all that shit happened in closed beta, it was actually rather fun to watch, because it was beta. what it did show, is how one or two governors could fuck over an entire server, and that some town control needed to be separated. it was suggested those who actually bought housing whether they were PVE/PVP/PVX, should be able to influence town improvements and that forts continue to be under the controlling company.

and then we are here…
exploits being used to win wars
towns being put to max
devolving
gov’s stealing from their own companies
gov’s throwing wars, changing factions, and or leaving servers with the gold they stole from their own companies
megacompanies
still no mechanics to deal with situations… like some way of getting rid of bad govs, fight against your own faction

and yeah the common player IS getting screwed and it’s not fun, doesn’t matter their play style.

also, there are some main quests that requires to go to Outfitting stations and craft some items, the problem is when a toxic company leave its crafting stations “to die” in order to prevent other players getting more XP

Until you get mass reported for disruptive behaviour and get pemanent ban. This has happened and it’s sad that AGS favors players who abuse the game systems to ruin the game over players that just want to have fun. The mass report still works and feels like a russian roulette. Everytime you enter an argument with someone, you have a chance to get permanent ban and an automatic message of how you don’t deserve an explanation.

We don’t care, the endgame is PvP, deal with it

“towns being put to max

gov’s throwing wars, changing factions, and or leaving servers with the gold they stole from their own companies
megacompanies”

PvP game in a nutshell. If you don’t like it, go back to WoW

love the “go back to wow”, never played it dude, can’t stand it.

everything i’ve listed affects ALL levels of gameplay since it makes it whether or not a town is viable to all the other players, including those who control it.

reading comprehension is also your friend… i’m a pvper as well.

People don’t realized yet is not PvP that lack content on endgame, IS PvE!!! The game is brand new and have only 3 recurrent events to do in endgame: pvp missions, wars and Outpost Rush.

The problem with PvP in this game isn’t that we need to have a separated PvP server, the problem is that a player has no incentive at all to flag while in open world, it’s only negative consequences and the biggest one for me is that you lose gold because your equipment and equipments in your inventory will break.

And you know what? If AGS force this “PvP over everything” and neglect the whole PvE and crafting part of the game that must sustain the PvP part this game is doomed. No one will play for more than a few months. You PvP only 24/7 people must realize that the game isn’t balanced at all and has so many broken system that need and will be changed.

PvPers only care about PvP, generally. The majority of comments by these types make that abundantly clear. They don’t care about how others are affected by their actions in this game, which is why they make excuse after excuse and, are intentionally offensive to anyone of a different belief. Yes, part of this is on AGS. But, as you can plainly see, these generally tend to be the type of people who only care about themselves and, use every excuse in the book to defend their actions. Sorry PvPers but, the game is going to change eventually and, it will not be to your liking. PvPers tend to be toxic by nature. They’re competitive, egotistical and, they generally show these same tendencies in RL. That’s not to say every, single person who PvPs is like that. There are generally some nice people out there. But, this is the internet. These types show their abusive attitudes where they don’t have to face reality. This game should never have tied PvP/PvE together. AGS dropped the ball on this one, BIG-TIME.

Keep filing your complaints, people. It may not be tomorrow but, eventually AGS will get the message and fix things. Don’t let those others intimidate nor, discourage you. Ignore those that are purposefully, contentious. Kudos to those that are not. Let AGS know how you feel. Keep on keepin’ on, folks.

This is a game that wanted to be PvP, pivoted to PvE when they figured out that it would be a niche game and they want a mega-game. The best you can say is that this is a shallow PvE game with PvP elements. Open World is a joke, Wars are cool but a zerg fest, and how many people have been able to get into one? Outpost Rush is lots of fun and hopefully, they open this up to cross-server sooner rather than later.

Never had trouble getting into a War and My company is 11 people and we are only known on our server by Word of mouth and have a reputation as good players so no trouble getting into War. Also if your on a server band wagoning off the dominate faction I would expect to sit the bench. People complaining about getting into War is server based typically. Servers with massive dominate factions have alots of players who never see War.

I already posted a massive rework thread on this topic.
You can read about it here: Redesigned Cities and some other alterations

Dumb reply considering it’s about Monarchs, one of the four starting zones. If it were one of the high-level zones, sure - but as long as you cannot choose and preview your starting zone, you’re pretty much fucked at a low-level with taxes that high.

Clearly worth a fix - especially since two new players wanting to quest together should be able to be in the same starting zone.

Under level 10 shouldn’t be paying taxes at all, IMHO.

“Just pack up and leave” isn’t an option when you need tens of thousands of weight worth of materials to level skills, and storage holds a measly ~1200 weight through normal play if you dedicate all the territory levels you can to storage.
