Totally disagree. The devs should not punish players who grinded HWM.
But they also should not punish those who crafted or traded instead because the watermark system THEY wrote was so tedious many did not want to participate.

They should have never proposed a GS reduction in the first place. That’s why people are so mad. Nobody opposes the new Expertise system at all, but when they mentioned reducing GS effectiveness to your current HWM level, now that’s upsetting.
A proposal like that is equivalent to them saying if your crafting is not 200 for everything, your item’s GS will be reduced to your current crafting level, regardless of whether you got 600 HWM or not. I’m sure anybody who got 600 WM but didn’t level up 200 crafting would be equally upset too!
(Especially when they acknowledge that it was monotonous in the very Devlog where they take a dump on the other methods.)
This. This right here.
20% Mad about time-gating Expertise advancement.
200000% mad that the hundreds of hours leveling crafts so I could make all my own 530+ gear is flushed down the toilet. Add to that with a certain group of players who chose that advancement path MAINTAINING their edge (whether it was gained with Hatchet exploit zerging or not) and the rest of us having to re-grind up through the New and Timegated advancement system. (And apparently costly.)
Fixed that for you.
We did a different grind, leveling 1 profession (or all gear professions in my case) to T5 so we could make our own gear instead of humping the elite chests.
If my grind gets invalidated and I have to do another one just to revalidate it… why shouldn’t they?
By your line of reasoning we should also reset all crafting back to zero, right? Because of those who hit 200 before crafting got harder.
Your logic suggests we reset Gold to zero too, right?
Sure, reset crafting and give us back the gold because clearly looting chests costs zero gold.
I’ve got two professions maxed, rest all 100+. Took much less time then HWM grinding. I did the grind to craft myself stuff and make money on the market. Most of my gear is still just found or bought off TP.
Not my fault you didn’t do the large amount of content that raises HWM. If you didn’t interact with some of the games systems, that are now changing, why are you complaining? Crafting got a big buff, rewards at over lv200+ and mats to guarantee attributes on crafts without using crafting mod slot.
Nothing is getting taken away from you except maybe 9-10% of your strength in combat max if you were like 500GS HWM somehow. Crafting remains the same, if you made something for yourself or someone else that is BiS, IT STILL IS.
Sure.
If they’re going to knee cap a sizeable chunk of the playerbase arbitrarily… kneecap the rest of it too.
(Not like it matters to me… I’m a crafter, I’m broke AF… assuming I still had the game installed, I wouldn’t miss my 200coin too awful much.)
Or you know they could just not reduce GS effectiveness and everyone’s happy instead of cucking 1 part of the player base?
That will now take MONTHs to recover from and tens (or hundreds) of thousands of gold in the new time-gated Expertise advancement system.
Just because a bunch of people zerg and hatchet exploited their way through the outdoor elite zones and dungeons doesn’t make their time spent any more valuable than mine.
(Yeah… the HWM grind sounds a lot less difficult when you have 10+ exploiters hitting mobs for 10-20k a shot…)
It always felt very lame when the dupers flooded servers with voidbent and many companies didn’t lose them, so could just stomp everyone. It’s also the case currently where the rich companies can just buy the best gear for their PvPers. It’s a matter of balance.
Who’re they cucking? The small portion who didn’t play much of the game. I’m a crafter and have my HWM’s up to decent levels mostly, so they aren’t messing with all crafters. Plus they giving them stuff in return. Gold should not make the game pay2win, but it currently does, thus why bots exist.
Did you also know the new Gypsum system costs 600 gold per cast for an increase of 3 expertise per item?
Umm only on the PTR. They’ve already said it’d be drastically reduced on live.
okay I believe it too
The small portion
You are living under a rock man. YOU are the small portion who think it’s fine. There is literally an entire thread with over 600 comments, the majority of which state they will quit the game. There are also over a dozen threads flodding the forums saying they hate the change. Idk man it seems like you guys are the minority here trying to make it sounds like it’s ok. It’s not.
FTFY
You act like the only people exploiting the game were gold based…
I agree.
Why are you quoting me then editing me quotes to look like something else?
