You asked for what can kill a healer in live. the only thing that is unintended is shield perks working on secondary weapons. BB is still your best burst damage available for smiting healers
heavy healers shouldn’t exist. Period.
Healers should be able to be killed. Period.
Healers are not tanks and being able to tank 5+ players in any pvp situation is bullshit.
this is called balance.
I’m so sorry this is happening to you. Ezmode is over. Thank you.
Light Sword and Shield shouldn’t exist. Period
Sword and Shield shouldn’t move around easily or Hard CC. Period
Tanks are not dps and being able to win a 1v2 in any pvp situation is bullshit
this is called balance.
I’m so sorry this is happening to you. Ezmode is over. Thank you.
That’s how you sound right now. This game was promoted to be a classless system. Full freedom on how you can play effective if you’re good enough. If we’re getting pushed into class archetypes they better start allowing alt characters
I don’t play heavy healer before anyone assumes
This entire patch and thread can be boiled down to this.
haha, it takes 4 seconds to kill a heavy healer, if you struggle with it, try pushing him out of the SG. But now without CC chains you don’t know how to play any more, so we got gutted, so you can kill the healers, just faster.
Your mindset is zero effort, zero skill, just spam-kill anything. I’ve seen the PTR, and the light healers ganking is a living proof that the survivability is nonexistent.
No damage, no threat, no armor, that’s what you wanted, you got it, congratz.
You should play more PvP before posting next time. thanks.
At the end of the day, heavy healers are gonna be squishy as fuck and I’m okay with it.
I felt before they needed an adjustment, a bit of a Nerf. But they’re nerfed all around.
10% less armor from 200 con a negative healing from heavy equip load and the stamina Nerf to everyone’s survivability.
So to be fair, these changes are going to change more factors than we can even begin to theorize in a forum post. Clips from PTR are the only thing we should look at and comment on rather than theories.
Survivability as a whole for everyone was way too high, bruisers gained too much from 200 CON, bruisers with CC did way too much damage for how easy they lived and light armor users were so evasive that even a 5 man fully equipped to deal with a healer that were coordinated still would have trouble killing a good healer.
I watched a healer in my company escape a 5 man death squad that was 100% a healer killer squad and was ran down over half the war and was only killed once or twice. Granted, he was a skilled player, but that’s what should be the focus. Balancing on the skilled side, not the noob side. 3v3 arenas and ranked can help developers know what should be changed because they can focus on high ELO play.
The game has changed and we shall wait and see.
You should get some PvP skills before calling nerfs. Thanks.
Yep, due to the original direction of the game being solely focused as a PvP game, I don’t expect the developers will ever be able to balance the game independently between PvP and PvE.
If they do manage to find a solution then my family and I may revisit the game.
Best Wishes
Yes they should.
They already can.
Tanking 5+ players consistently and actually doing something meaningful while doing so is a thing of the past.
This is not balancing.
Ez mode is light healing, please get a grip on reality.
Dude, this just isn’t realistic in arenas… I think you are wrong because you can’t have a build that cannot be killed in a 1v1 scenario in New World with this gameplay style that we have. This is not a regular mmo, and that is what people like about it, and having a heavy healer that is unkillable hurts competitive pvp. The amount of skill it takes a heavy healer to stay alive compared to the amount of skill to bring them down is too lopsided. Every class needs to be able to lose in a 1v1 scenario, and these changes are a step in the right direction. I will admit that they may have gone too far with this nerf, but a nerf was needed and every class should be able to lose in a 1v1 scenario.
Yes is not a traditional MMO, when was the last time you saw a healer wearing heavy armor with a staff? closest would be Paladin… but that uses sword and board
I would rather ban staff from 1v1 arenas and apply dampening to healing in 3v3 than nerf the heavy healer to oblivion and push healers into the traditional “light” class
I would also balance pvp separately from pve… but we both know that’s not going to happen
How does a skilled healer win in a 1v1 scenario?
Do I beacon and orb of protection people to death?
See, you are trying to reason with a monkey. He wants to kill you in 1vs1, but you can’t kill him, that’s his flawless logic.
I am not saying that I want to be able to kill you but you can’t kill me… I’m just saying that having a class that is unkillable in arenas hurts competitive pvp. I am light armor, bow and spear player and a good healer can kill me, but not the other way around for heavy healers. The damage done can be decent against light armor and the vg does decent damage as well and the paladin build can be decent as well, but to me, a heavy armor healer does not make much sense in pvp. If I am off base here that is fine, and I am always willing to change my opinion on something, but a lot of people share my opinion on this.
Could you imagine if we had 1v1 kill potential? Forums would be flooded with posts screaming bloody murder that not only do bad players suck at killing healers but dying to them too? It be chaos.
I think it would be fine. It would be like a support hero in overwatch. If the life staff user couldn’t heal themselves very often (like once every 10-20 seconds) and they did like 80% the damage of a pure damage character it would be fine.
Armor type is not the problem and forcing healers to change thier armors they wear to be more tanky by decreasing thier healing even further is not the solution.
The problem is self-healing. As healers can easily heal and overheal damage they recive in 1 vs 1. And the solution is to decrease thier self-healing by 50%. After all, they are healers not self-healers.
I played LS and leveled weapon to 20 and I have a full build that I use sometimes and this actually sounds like a fun idea in pvp. I think 20 seconds is too long, but 5-10 seconds would be doable and if they could do more damage this would be a more interesting build to use and more fun to play against. Fighting against a LS user isn’t that fun right now, but it might be too drastic of a change. What do you full time LS users think?
I think their fear was a team of three Heavy Healers with 300/200 FOC/CON and SNS just waiting out the Ring of Fire.
Thing is, they can probably have fixed it with more Disease stacks applied progressively over time instead.
