Diminishing returns for resources gathering

When you assert that someone is trying to punish you, and that person never said anything to suggest punishing you, that is not an ā€œopinionā€ that is defamation.

I don’t have a problem, I am simply dismantling your replies. If you do not wish for me to reply to you, stop replying to me. As long as you enter into a debate with me discussing this thread, I have a right to respond do I not?

So limit farming aswell ? Why do we always end up with limiting others what we can afford to do ? if its bot or gold seller yeah it deserve ban but you need more evidence for that. trust you dont want diminishing returns on things like this it just makes people not do what they like.

How about we agree on this. Farming should not have diminishing returns.

My replies to you started with your statement as I quoted below. I never discussed diminishing returns.

And if they are an actual person driving their character the whole time, I don’t care how much they farm. Just cause someone farms a lot does not mean they are a gold seller.

I’m glad we agree there shouldn’t be diminishing returns that would penalize legit farmers.

I have not considered the ramifications (if any) to the player base if such a system were to be implemented. I have no opinion pro or con in regards to diminishing returns.

Man you should run for office.

…and we are back to square one.

The crux of the issue is that who you think are ā€œlegit farmersā€ spending 16 hours a day or more, days on end, are in fact not. They are gold sellers sharing an account. No real single person playing the game has the kind of time. Between work, needing to be away for food, away from showering, away for sleep etc, no one has the time to spend the kind of time we are talking about farming. The only way this is accomplished is through account sharing. Which, if I am correct is against the TOS.

And yes those people should be punished.

Ohh god no. I would never want to be in politics. I can’t stand it.

I am a designer by trade. My specific work requires close attention to detail.

No, what I said is that if they are actively farming that much, then they are probably a bot and the time farmed by an actual person is exaggerated.

And I work from home and can be on and off farming all day long.

And a stated that I have seen them in game farming for those kinds of hours on end, and they are not bots because I had conversations with them, real conversations not ā€œbot conversationsā€.

These are shared accounts. IN FACT one specific ā€œplayerā€ on my server is always chatty and cool in the morning hours. But when I see them at 3 am (I switched my schedule up to get farming done because its so bad on my server) they would not wave and were less chatty when I whispered them, as if they did not know me.

Fast forward to the next afternoon after I sleep, I see them again and BAM chatty again.

How do you know this as fact? And I’m not suggesting those don’t exist. I hate bots. But the solution to them is not diminishing returns. Which was the topic of this thread.

Read my above post.

I did.

Thread is about diminishing returns and you go on some tangent about shared accounts and I’m the one moving the goalposts? Smh.

Good day

And yes, you moved goal posts multiple times.

The solution to New World’s Resources/Gathering issues are to mimic how GW2 handles this:

  • Nodes are distributed randomly in each zone among a number of pre-set locations and redistributed any time a new instance is created, e.g. after a game update or server maintenance.
  • Most nodes can be used by each character on an account and will reset (for that character) a few hours after gathering.

I explained why I do not want to be punished for playing the game. I did not like how gw2 handled it but thats beside the point. if I want to farm the world all day I do not want to be punished for doing that that. I think bots should be removed from the game, my suggestion prevents people from afking on a node when working from home anything else just punishes average players for playing the game. its very carebear aswell

Wait 93 above 200? Playing the market? This seems more about gimping the competition because you can only bot…wait farm… for 10 hours a day
