Disabling all gold transfers?

I blame AGS exclusively, the dupes were done in closed beta and AGS are so awful they literally could not fix it. I EXPECT this from dupers and exploiters, the fact remains that AGS basically welcomed them by not fixing shit wrong since closed beta.

So bad people have no blame for their bad actions. Got it.

We all may not like this temporary stop, but this is done in real-world situations too for a myriad of reasons when criminals circumvent controls.

This is a drastic step. If they are going this far, then just turn the servers off.

Yes, and not even a vendor to sell anything too…because…well…that would apparently be game breaking.

Why does there have to be a choice who to blame? They are both to blame. There are other options but they are all bad, they picked 1 bad option out of a selection of bad options…I don’t think at this stage they had a good one.

What WOULD have been a good option is listening to reports and fixing things before they release the game. Too late for that now unless they take the whole thing down for a while and do what they should have done in the first place.

Some people are so clueless in this world.

No, shitty people are always going to do shitty things, it’s up to AGS to fix dupes that were HIGHLIGHTED IN CLOSED BETA. What about that do you not understand?

Yeah, you.

Exactly. See, this is what I don’t get. They’re “investigating.” Then they will ban all the exploiters. I’m good with both of those things. But, are we to believe that they cannot “investigate” while keeping the economy on? And, if their end goal is to ban the exploiters, then I’m under the assumption that people exploiting while the economy is still on will also be banned. So, I’m not following the logic behind the decision to turn the economy off. If they need to turn it off while they fix it, I’d understand that…but, while “investigating?” Ehhhhhhh

I agree gold duping is game-breaking. Turning off the economy is also game-breaking. You literally cannot pay for a defense against a war declaration without funds. Just this weekend I sent 3k to one company to help pay for a war and 2k to another company for the same reason.

So vote! What is the game-breaking you prefer to stay?

I wonder how long this will be in effect for because it begs the questions of:

Are they going to pause taxes on housing?

Are they going to reimburse people that lost their house(s) due to not being able to get coin to pay said taxes if they don’t pause?

I prefer them to start banning people while working on a fix and not break the game further with their fix. A fix shouldn’t do more damage than the problem. imho, this fix creates bigger problems. They can ban the people who are exploiting gold duping, thus removing the gold from the economy too. The fix could potentially lead to factions losing territory.

AGS have colluded with “criminals” by knowingly releasing a game with well known exploits that allow said “criminals” to benefit financially IRL. AGS knew these exploits (yes multiple) existed well before release. AGS have only themselves to blame for providing a platform that has given “criminals” the opportunity to collude with AGS in the exploitation of these well known exploits.

Turboprop, You have simply misidentified the “bad people”, They are AGS.

.

Oh, so the problem is you can’t play “fund-a-war.” Oh no.

So if given a choice you’ve already said turn the game off. They didn’t agree with you. This topic is dead at this point if you won’t engage in open discussions.

Instead, you only care about yourself, much like the exploiters. I’m done with you all.

If someone declares war on you, you need to shell out coin to mount a defense. If your company doesn’t have that coin in the bank before this change, you are SOL and will lose the war and your territory.

That’s the comedy. Half the weapons don’t work or are exploitable, so wars are already unplayable; the duped items have crashed the economy, so gathering is pointless as well; and the duped gold is now purchasable with real cash, so end game doesn’t matter. My advice is to just stop playing until they hit a massive reset button on the entire game and pray they can recover from this PR nightmare.

That is why I say

Just read some of the threads in the forum to see the size of the problem they have in their hands right now.

Pretty sure I’m aware of who is bad here. I think AGS does have blame for not patching highlighted security issues but that doesn’t take away blame for those who engage in illegal activity. And yes, a ToS is a legally binding agreement.

Using the word “collusion” tells me all I need to know about the mindset being used here.

I disagree with collusion. I think it’s incompetence.
