Why is it that in 2021, we are asking one of the largest MMORPG projects in recent history why they do not have a disconnect/crash grace period on your character so when your game bugs out and causes us to leave the game we dont have to sit for hours in a queue again?

This is definitely something that should be implemented. Ten minutes would be enough time to allow us to log back in after a dc/crash.
I’d be happy with a 5 minute. I randomly crashed (not even an error) mid Amrine and got put into a 1500 queue.

My game crashed on a smaller (ish) server and now in a 1-2 hour queue. There’s less than 500 people in the queue for this server, it seems like the server cap on those servers could just be 2.5k… I hardly ever even run into other people in a lot of areas.

I very much support this and am shocked it has not been implemented in the first place. This is even worse for people who are in the queue waiting and then the game freezes (happened to me twice) and are put back to the end of the queue. Same with all the people who seem to have connection timeouts.
A grace period for people who crashed or disconnected to be able to skip the queue and continue playing with their friends should be a high priority patch asap.
