I think pvp needs alot of work, and I honestly don’t think AGS has the drive/interest/means (could be one or all three, or more) to do it.
I really think they need to open pvp servers and devote a whole team to unlinking pvp and pve abilities, and then just focus on dual development. They have the funds. Or at least Amazon does if Big Daddy B will release the purse strings.
Yeah it’s either they don’t PvP, or just don’t think it’s profitable anymore to work on it. Probably both. I think that’s a mistake though because they have gold mine that they’re not tapping into
If weapons like the musket stay the way they are the open world pvp zone will not be fun at all. You will have snipers all around the zone 3 tapping your character and loot your stuff.
Re-read the entire thread then get back to me. If you make it an incentive for players to go there by having ads drop good loot then of course people will flock to that area.
I have already said in previous posts that there’s no need to make the drops special to this zone. It should be the same drops as everywhere else just a little more consistent since you’re risking.
People would go to this zone just to have high risk fights for gold alone.
You can choose to either ignore this zone because it won’t effect your New World experience in the slightest, or you can join in and risk fight if you choose to do so.
Clearly you have no idea what you’re talking about.
It’s not forced PvP. It’s a new zone added to the map that you could either participate in or completely ignore.
As I’ve already stated:
Just like there’s multiple means to PvE and PvP. You can choose to participate in any of these activities or ignore them completely. As a matter of fact, you can’t really ignore PvE if you want to PvP, if you really want to go down that route.
I don’t know why some people hate on an idea that wouldn’t effect them in the slightest.
Tarkov, Hunt, and DMZ are far from struggling by the way. The Division is the only one on the list that you could say doesn’t have a consistent playerbase.
I could pull up charts of concurrent players, but I’m not going to bother.
It needs to drop pvp gear only. That way pve’ers wont feel forced to go there in the first place. Anytime you hide pve rewards behind pvp mechanics someone is going to feel “forced.” Pvp should reward pvp rewards and pve should reward pve rewards. They need to be separated and the overlap is what causes so much friction between players.
funny how every time PvP folk mentions anything that is PvP focused and would be rewarding PvE lords act as if now they are FORCED AT GUNPOINT to play it. Yet for some reason it’s fine that PvP players have to play PvE for umbrals or spend hours at TP to get the gold they need. The level of hypocrisy is just insane, its like arguing with a girl about double standards.
I appreciate the support but I think there should always be a healthy balance to PvE and PvP.
Amazon has a net worth of almost 1 trillion. I think they have plenty of resources and it’s not much of an excuse considering they have more money than most triple AAA studios combined.
You guys aren’t wrong. Between the years of 2000-2010 was some of the most toxic PvP in MMO’s to ever exist. I remember those times! So, I can understand where some people are coming from, but we’re way past that now.
PvE can be just as toxic nowadays so there’s not much of an excuse. God forbid I accidently miss one roll and cost everyone a run mid M10 only to end up getting flamed.
I do agree. But I also remember making friends. Asking in general chat for assistance. I even made friends with max level players who escorted me to my quest givers. It was dynamic player driven content.
We are playing an MMO because we like the player created interactions right? Why are people so salty and crying their eyes out whenever other players are mean to them. That’s part of it. Rally up and make some friends. I swear half these PvE players just want a singleplayer experience but a town full of people they can show off their gear and titles to…
